Try pairing them up agin which may require pressing the button on the opener itself and the button on the remote that usually opens the door.

Oh, before going to all that trouble, check the remote's battery if it's a few years old. If you have more than one remote and all of them don't work, try the process above.

If you have the owners manual, it should explain how to setup the remotes again. If not, you can go online and see if Sears has the manual on the web.

What kind of light bulbs are you using? I know it sounds crazy but the new LED and the old CFL can interfere with the range of the transmitter by blocking the signal to the receiver

My remote controls only work when I am in the garage

Are you sure that the replacement batteries are good? Test them for current output before installing? How about the antenna that is affixed to door opener - is it there to receive the remote's signal?

If batts are good as well as the antenna then the receiver portion of the opener has lost gain and is in need of repair.

The light on the Garage door blinks but doesn't stay on.

Three blinking lights & door won't close by Candi
(Winston-Salem, NC)
Garage door will not open and close with remotes. Three blinking lights occur when we try to close door. What does this mean? It is a Linear unit.
I will assume you mean that your garage door will open with your remote but will not close. It should close if you press and hold the wall control button until the door is fully closed.
If that is the case, the 3 blinking lights indicate that your garage door's infrared safety beams are not properly aligned.
1) Check that the operator has power. The green lights on the sender and receiver should be lit.
2) If the receiver's green light is on, but the red light is off, the receiver has power but is not detecting the infrared beam from the sender. The red light might flash when the beam is partially detected. This can be caused by
mis-alignment or something blocking the beam.
Adjust the safety beam sender and receiver while watching the receiver's red light (stay out of the beam while aligning it). When the red light stays on, the beam is aligned and your garage door should operate normally.
NOTE: If the receiver's red light remains off, check for:
1) Dirt on the receiver's lens,
2) Sunlight shining into the receiver's lens,
3) A short in the safety beam wiring (from staples or at the operator terminals).

My garage door opens when the neighbor opens his garage door

somehow his controller has "grabbed" your frequency which you already know, you cant change the frequency of you garage door receiver. what you do is unplug you opener and have him reprogram his remote to his door while your receiver is incapable of being programmed. somehow your receiver was in program mode when he set his door opener up. at the back of your opener there should be a red button that allows you to program new receivers, make sure this isnt damaged or stuck while pushed in. i have tried these ideas with some success.if this doesnt work then try reprogramming both yours and his from scratch, one at a time while the one not being done is unplugged. hope this helps

Garage door send receive signal

Caution: do not use LED bulbs with garage door openers. They are a possible source of signal interference between the transmitter and receiver on the opener.

Garage door opener remote does'nt work when the garage door is shut

Probably you have a weak battery in your remote transmitter. When the garage door is closed it requires a stronger signal. Open the remote and replace the battery.

Garage door dosent work whit remote control, but i works manuelt

check the remotes batteries and take a finger nail emery board and lightly sand the battery and remotes terminals, also try getting up close to the receiver with the remote maybe its a blocked signal, also make sure the antenna on the receiver is out in the open and not wrapped up somewhere, then also remove the receiver boards and check those connections too for corrosion and reinstall and see if this helps

I have a Craftsman 13953919 door opener. My garage door opens during the day when I am not home. The alarm company calls me to let me know, and the police have been by twice. Nothing is stolen, so I can...

Here are some things to check.

Look at the LED light next to the SMART/LEARN button on rear of the motor unit. You may need to remove a light lens cover in order to see it. If the light is flashing rapidly this means you have a stuck button on one of your remote controls. Take the batteries out of each remote control. When you remove the batteries from the bad remote, the light will stop flashing. This remote needs to be replaced.

If one of your neighbors remote controls is inadvertently programmed into your receiver, you door will open when their remote is activated. If this happens you will need to clear out your receiver and reprogram your remote controls. Press and hold the smart/learn button for 6 seconds or until you see the small LED light near the button turn itself off. If the above steps have been followed and the symptoms continue, there may be an electronic short in either the wall control button or the receiver logic board. In this case, remove the wall control wires from terminals 1 and 2 on the motor unit. Should the symptoms persist after the wires are removed, replace the receiver logic board. If the symptoms stop with the wall control wires removed from the motor unit, replace the wall control button, and the wires leading to the wall control button.

sounds like condensation in the receiver window of the garage unit rather than the remotes. Try running a hair dryer over the area where the signal is received to get rid of any moisture and try using the remote from across the road or at the drive check your success
