We need more info before we can properly diagnose your Media Player issue. Is the content you are playing from the Internet or is it saved to the hard drive?
Please test Media Player by doing the following: - Reboot the laptop - find a local video file that is saved to your hard drive - double click it and see if it plays correctly
If the file plays correctly then the issue was either the laptop needed to be rebooted OR the content that plays slowly is from the Internet and your Internet connection is not fast enough to play the video smoothly.
Internet connection isnt good, and if you have a slow internet it will play the video on the highest resolution and by the time it plays the video it will have taken a long time
If you place a dvd in your drive and play it does it play slow and stall? If so you need more memory. If not then the site you are streaming the video from might be slow or have heavy traffic.
Your internet service provider might have you on a slow line speed. AT&T has different line speeds for their customers. If you purchase the lowest priced package then your line speed will be very slow on downloading and streaming.
You probably need more ram memory. Also try playing a video in your dvd player. If it plays slow and choppy you definitely need more ram memory.
If you are trying to play a video from a website (streaming) then three things can affect how smooth it plays. 1) Memory - your ram memory might be low 2) The website might be experience heavy traffic from many users. 3) The Line Speed of your internet connection from your service provider might be slow. For example: AT&T sells about 3 or 4 different packages and each one increases the line speed for uploading or downloading. If you buy the low end package the line speed is very slow on uploading and downloading or streaming. It's ok for just surfing, but nothing else.
