If you can't find a second dipstick under the bonnet then you will find it will be a sealed unit and can only be done where you get your Jeep Compass serviced.

SOURCE: transmission fluid for 2007 pontiac G6 GT

This car does not have a auto trans dipstick, the level can only be checked by the dealer, this is a growing trend that started with most German cars, the filter is inside the trans pan and only needs changing every 60,000 miles.

SOURCE: jeep 2002 Transmission Over-Temperature

may have a bad temp sensor for trany oil, or the cooler or lines may be restricked, the oil temp has to be checked when the light comes on, this will tell if its really hot or the sensor is bad, start there.

Testimonial: "Thanks, for your take; it definitely sounds very possible thats its a bad sensor, oil appears to be ok and all fluids are ok too, bringing it in"

SOURCE: How do I check Transmission Fluid on my 2007 Jeep

Jeep decided that there is no need to check the trans fluid, the trans is is sealed unit. You have a tube for the trans fluid, but it has a factory cap and no dip stick. A special tool is needed to check the fluid level.

SOURCE: 2007 dodge caliber transmission light is on

Hello
You'll notice what appears to be a dipstick tube at the front of the vehicle on the drivers side, and it should have a warning label to use CVT oil. But when you remove the top, there's no stick. The dipstick itself is a "special tool" (Miller No. 9336). The stick is marked for fluid levels for different temperatures, although there is an acceptable range.
Read the instructions carefuly that come with the tool
Thank you!

it must be the right fluid , do NOT GUESS>
it must be done with the transmission hot, and levels vary by the exact temperature it is at now.

why not let jeep or any ASE PRO shop do this and avoid you wrecking a $3000 BOX>
ok is that clear,

asking how much tells me you do not know A/T at all.

On a level surface with the engine running and in park, pull the transmission dip stick out, wipe it off with a rag and insert it back into the tube. Pull it out once more and read the markings on the tip. add fluid as necessary.

2007 Jeep Compass - Clutch pedal went to the floor on my daughter --fluid is low -no visable external leaks - clutch does not slip Do I need to split the flywheel housing in order to change the slave...

Usually if you pump the pedal a lot when it's cold if the slave is leaking you will see some dripping from the bellhousing. I would definitely check inside the cab where the master attaches to the pedal rod to be sure it isn't leaking there and that's why you don't see fluid outside though. If you already checked there then yes if the slave is leaking, that's the only way in there.
