Need driver to install Windows 7 on netbook with no cd/dvd drive

go here
select your model from DVD+-RW or perhaps more reliably enter your s/n in the box. Then go to 'downloads'. If you do not see what you want contact laCie support. It is possible that that there isn't a 'proper' driver, and you will have to make do with an XP or Vista. You might need a driver which supports a 64 bit o/s though I'm not sure if 32 bit drivers would compatible. (if you have a 32 bit o/s). Once you have downloaded and installed the driver you are ready. Or save it to a place on your HDD and connect your DVD device to your notebook and when prompted to look for drivers, tell your computer/wizard to look in that place on your HDD where you save the driver to. Alternatively, you might tell your computer to 'search the internet' for drivers, but I've never had success with that. If you're lucky it will use a windows driver that is already part of your system.

I have a samsung laptop R517,and i install widow xp in our system but i could not install the sound driver. please help.

When you try installing the sound driver what does it say???
You might have the wrong version of a sound driver. Drivers are usually made for particular platforms, for example [for intel processors and chipsets or AMD processors] the two are not swappeable, thus even if it says the driver is for the particular laptop, you might have a wrong processor...
Another option would be to try and install the driver using device manager just in case what you have are a series of non-executable files [which is seldom the case]

How to add a new harddisk to a Gateway Peninum 3 550MHz machine and install win98?

Do you want to replaced the main HD or add a new one? If you want to replace the main one, buy a Hard drive under 160 gigs. I cant remember but 98 can not deal with a bigger one, you will have to cut it up or Partition it. Partition it down to 20 gig each. Do you have your Org. win 98 install disk? Get a setup program with the HD you buy. That program should let you Partition it and also format it to use with 98 or fat32. Once installed in the computer set the HD to master with switches located on the drive (small jumpers) As it boots up look for press DEL to enter setup. Get into the BIOS program and ck to see it it will locate your new hard drive you might have to set heads and scetors so make a note of the stamped on the drive. Once the BIOS has found the drive it is a matter of format w/ copy the command comm program from win98 you will have to have a good win 98 set up disk. Once you have formated the drive with fat32 and copied you will need to install CD/Rom drivers you might have to find a good old win98 starup disk to boot up the cd. you might find a good old floppy with a cd intall on it at a local computer shop. if using an old win98 startup disk you can then put in the cd and at the Prompt type in cd win98 then type in  setup and that should be a good start.

I made the mistake of downloading the driver robot and it ended up deleting or sabatoging a few of my drivers then offered fixing them for a fee! I'm so sick of being victimized by the very sites that are...

umm so are u asking for help or complaining? most site ****** people into this its just there way of screwing with you.. so u know that driver robot is a virus and its deleted ur stuff on purpose..

now to fix this issue. your best off with doing a clean install*deleting the old windows and reinstalling it to get rid of the virus for sure* if u wanna keep ur data then burn it and scan on another computer. before you delete it download the driver for your motherboard LAN*internet* since you will need this to finish the install of the system again. then burn the driver and delete the whole things

once your finished installing windows install the interent driver and download drivermax.. its free and all you have to do sign up... then you download it from and it will autofind the proper drivers for your computer...good luck and next time dont download things like that and have a good anitvirus..i suggest avg...again its free from its good and make sure u keep it updated

Lost cd drive - computer does not recognize any cd inserted. Computer is 5 years old but has plenty of memory available.

If the cd drive is actually running, but you are not able to access the information on the cd, check to see that the drive appears in windows explorer.
If it does appear, make sure you are current with your optional hardware updates at windows update, then take a look in the Device manager, right click the name of your cd drive, be sure it is enabled, and use the built in troubleshooter to attempt to fix it. This will help you to determine if you are in need of an updated driver for your cd drive, or whether the drive itself has failed.
Here is a link to an excellent Driver update tutorial if that is the problem....
If you are current with drivers for your machine, and the Device manager shows the drive is working correctly, please report back with you OS and the particulars of any error messages you receive when inserting cds and attempting to read/play them. Thanks.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take a moment to kindly rate this post....thanks!

I can't instal windows 95

IIRC the very early Windows 95 installation required CD-ROM drivers prior to Win95 set up, this was achieved using the supplied diskette.

The work-around for this issue is to do the initial install on a different system and transfer the HDD to your 486 system, this must be done BEFORE windows configures the driver set OR setting the drivers to MS default is required following completion of setup (on surrogate system).

Asus cusl2

Check the maufacturers website for driver updates and also windows update if you havent already. Also, as a last resort, try re-installing windows after backing up youor files, also, burn any drivers you have on a cd along with new ones, this way if you do a fresh install, you can load them right away.

You could try installing windows updates one at a time untill you hit the one thats causing you problems, then exclude i from your updates list.
