Question about Sharp XV-Z2000 Multimedia Projector
I have two red lights that have illuminated on the Sharp XV-Z2000. The unit won't turn on. I have tried everything...even put in a new bulb. Does anyone have any thoughts.
The problem lies with your color wheel. DLP projectors use color wheels to produce the colours...... The little red glass pieces are from the color wheel.... product code. CFILWA081WJ03. Massive backorders in the US from Sharp. Last ETA I heard was Oct 5, 2009

While this may not be the solution that people want to hear. After replacing the lamp...if you plug the projector back in and the Power and Lamp light stay constant red and the projector will not turn on, it is possible that the projector has gone into protection mode (if the lamp timer gets to a "critical" point where there could be catastophic failure) This requires a service reset by a factory authorized service center. Costs will vary by service center.

Hi Guys, I have had an issue with mine. I started it up, it played fine, then a loud pop! It carried on playing the image turned blue. The fan then kicked in louder than ive ever heard it.
i removed the lamp cover, removed the lamp. To my horror i noticed a few bits of broken red glass from inside (RGB filters)
Can i get a replacement part in the uk or is the unit Dead?
PLeae get back to me, i dont read this forum so could you email me at firstname.lastname@example.org

I have found an answer. Read the manual. If the temperature inside the projector increases, due to blockage of the air vents, or the setting location,
“ ” will illuminate in the lower left corner of the picture. If the temperature keeps on rising, the lamp will
turn off and the temperature warning indicator will blink, the cooling fan will run for a further 90 seconds, and
then the projector will enter the standby mode. After “ ” appears, ensure to perform the measures
described on page 55.
eg. you vacuum each side of the vents and unplug the unit from the power wait 5 minutes plug it back in and everything rests to normal. Failing this you have a possible issue with the cooling fans and you will then need to send off to the service centre.
If the fans do not work after turning the unit back on then this may be your issue.
here is the URL the the service manual if you have lost yours.

Check the air filters. Sometimes if they are dirty, they will stop the airflow to the projector and it will not turn on because it keeps overheating.
