Question about Sony PlayStation 2 (PS2) Console

It keeps making this rattle type noises

It starts to rattle as soon as it's switched on. When it reads the discs, it's keeps rattling on and on, also during gameplay, which takes a lot of time to load images and sounds.

What's wrong and how can I solve this problem?

Loud rattle sound when Idling

I suggest you have your car checked as soon as possible - while a rattling exhaust isn't desperately urgent it could be the cat breaking up which might later restrict the flow of gases. Most importantly excessively loose timing belts or chains tend to make most noise when the engine is idling. If the noise is being caused by this delay could be very expensive.

Rattling loud noise when plugging on & off adapter please help its annoying

A rattling noise can only be from one of three sources, two of them are mechanical. The first is the hard drive. If the hard drive is making clacking noises, it is usually soon going to fail. Now is the time to retrieve and save off any important files that you don't want to lose. The second would be the CD/DVD drive - but unless there is a disc installed they usually are dormant. The third could be from the sound card. This would be highly unlikely and indicative of a problem on the mainboard. I would lean toward the hard drive as the most likely candidate.

2007 fatboy front disc brake makes a type of rattling noise when still cold but the noise goes away when front brake applied and disappears completley when bike/brakes warmed up after about 1km. Pad...

I your pads are only 2mm (0.080") thick, you are due for some new pads. They should be nearer 20mm thick without measuring the metal backing plate, both of them. Good reason for the rattle.

Good Luck

Switch on compressor clicks on loudly and compressor makes a rattling noise when it runs.

if your sure it is the compressor relay that is making the noise then i would suggest replacing it fast... it may be getting weak and will leave the milk spoiling soon... another possibility is that the compressor it self is starting to get harder to crank and or the compressor itself is getting ready to go out...you may be hearing a rattle because sometimes it is not starting and the rattle is the compressor vibrating because of a weak start relay... hopeful thats the case if it constantly is rattling then i would say the compressor valves are starting to fail adn won't be long before you are shopping for a new unit or a appliance repair man ...good luck to you...lets hope you caught it early enough ....

My Audi A4 2009 makes a rattling noise on cold starts which resolves in less than 30 seconds. Dealer says its an air pump. This doesn't seem correct. The noise comes from the front of the care. Does not...

READ THIS (happy ending so far...):
audi a4 2L turbo quattro, manual transmission with 98,000 KM. Perfect conditions, no oil leaks whatsoever.

Left the car off for two weeks in very cold weather (-10C down to -25C). When I restarted, it started immediately but with heavy rattling noise due to camshaft adjuster not getting enough oil pressure. After 3 minutes of warming up (outside temp.: -12C) at very low rpm (below 2,000rpm), I start moving the car. Still hearing heavy rattle noise. As soon as I pass 2,000 rpm, I get a scary red warning, low oil pressure. Turn off the engine immediately. In 1 minute, I re-start the car and the engine lights check ok, so I drive in first gear super slow (1,200rpm) hearing the same rattling noise. After another minute, finally the noise all the sudden disappears and the car starts running just fine.

Called Audi dealer and they told me that in extreme weather conditions, I should warm the engine for 10-15 minutes if necessary before start moving.
Take away: luckily, I didn't screw up the engine since I was using it at extremely low rpm (easy to do with clutch and manual transmission) until the oil reached full pressure. I am pretty sure now that the problem was leaving the car off for such a long time in freezing weather. All the oil flows back to the bottom, and when I restarted it, the cold oil with high viscosity took a long time to reach all the parts of the engine, specially the camshaft adjusters that are actuated by using oil pressure. Next day, the car started at -9C perfectly without making any noise (as usual). Basically, the longer you leave your audi in cold weather, the longer you might hear the rattling noise until the oil reach full pressure inside the engine. My car took 6 minutes to fix it after couple of weeks in cold weather. This makes sense to me; in fact, in the past I only heard the rattling noise after leaving the car off for a couple of days in the winter.
So far, this has had an happy ending....

I have a 2001 Ford ranger supercab that makes rattling noises. It has a 4.0L SOHC. It makes a very fast and loud metallic rattle wich softens anfter about a second or so when I first start it for the day....

4.0l's are notorious for valve rattle on cold start-up. There is really nothing you can do to make it go away short of completely replacing the valve train in the top end, and that isn't a permanent fix. It's is an top end oiling issue from the factory. Just don't race your engine on cold start-up until the rattle stops.

The rattle in the transmission sounds to me to be more of a loose dust shield/heat shield around the transmission or exhaust than a mechanical issue.

Zanussi Electrolux frost free fridge/freezer - freezer defrosting

My husband left the freezer door open a couple of months ago, causing ice to form. The loud rattling noise was the fan hitting the ice. The reason why the temperature started to rise but the noise stopped was because the fan had got stuck in a block of ice and was no longer working. Simple solution - defrost the freezer for 24 hours. Touch wood, it is all working fine now!
