SOURCE: Our Asko D3100 dishwasher doesn't have Hot water

This is what the heater looks like.

Yes it can be that.

The power terminals are under the lower kick panel. If you are not comfortable with using a meter or working on live electrical circuits I would not recommend you attempt to work on the unit. There are multiple places under a dishwasher that can just plain ruin your day!

However... if someone you know is capable of using a meter and is aware of the dangers of working on live circuits, the element should have a resistance of less than 10 ohms with one power lead disconnected. It also should not read resistance from either center post to the chassis ground.

If the element is good then there is a problem with either internal wiring or the timer / control.

My ASKO D3100 dishwasher has no hot water

Hi there,

Well the heating element in the dishwasher might be faulty or not working properly. To check the heating element - Locate your dishwasher's heating element. Open the dishwasher door and look into the tub. It is the thin, circular tube at the base of your dishwasher. It may or may not be covered. If it is covered, remove the lower dishrack, and then remove the cover.

Your heating element is going to have two metal terminals. One at each end. Each terminal reaches downwards, into the base of the dishwasher. Mentally mark the area where each terminal enters the base of the tub.
Now you need to gain access to the heating element's wiring. You can do this by first removing the lower kickplate panel of the dishwasher. There will be at least two screws (but maybe four) holding the kickplate panel in place. They are located either on the top or the bottom of the panel. If the screws are located on the top, you may need to open the dishwasher door in order to gain access to them. Close the door to remove the panel, though.

Now look into the lower access area that you have just uncovered. Pinpoint the area where the heating element terminals extend through the base of the dishwasher. They will each have a wire connected to it. Label each of the wires so that you will be able to properly reconnect them later. Now you can pull the wires off the terminals.
Each wire is connected to a terminal using a slip-on connector. Grasp the connector and pull on it firmly.
DO NOT pull on the wire itself. Pull only from the connector. You may decide you need to use a pair of needle nosed pliers to help you. you need a multimeter to check the heating element....... post comments for more help or information......

Good Luck!!

Water Connections

In the US dishwashers are usually connected to the hot water supply. Although the ASKO 1850 I believe has an in line heater. Using hot water supply will reduce electrical useage.

Interestingly we use to have ASKO washer and it suggested only using cold water hook up as it heated its own water. I guess this was a feature if one's laundry area does not have hot supply, but it made no sense in CA to heat water with electricity.

Red light's on... but no hot water!

HI,

OK, inside the unit there are three items, the heating element, thermostat, and thermal fuse. What has happened is the element got too hot and the thermal fuse opened. There is no reset button. In some cases you may run across a defective heating element or thermostat but its not common. The fix would probably be replacement of the thermostat and thermal fuse. For this, you would have to contact a small appliance repair center in your area.

Goodluck,

Asko D3100 No hot water

check heater element for open circuit electrically, also there are cut outs located in various places all different depending on make ,model etc

these cut outs are not resettable, they just want replacing if faulty

if all above are well and test ok, it could be a broken wire inside the door skin just above the hinge (very common fault on older appliances)
