Question about Toshiba MW24FM1 24 in. TV/VCR/DVD Combo
Why do you want to get to the lens? Do you think it`s dirty, if so, try buying a laser lens cleaner, It will be a lot simpler and safer than stripping the set down.
In answer to your original question, Yes, You do have to strip the set and then you`ve got to strip the DVD player because it is buried inside a metal can. Then you`ve got to clean the lens, put it all back together, Praying that the fault has been cured. Please buy a cleaner first, I used to repair these kinds of sets and they are a nightmare, and I`ve been down this road before and it really is an awkward job especially when you put it all back together and then find that the CD door isn`t properly located or a lead isn`t connecting properly or a lead broke as you removed it. I`ve been there, I`ve got the T shirt. Ian
