Question about Zebra TLP 2844-Z Thermal Label Printer

Printer prints light 2nd half of carbon roll

I can't duplicate it, but one of my customers says that her label printer only works for about the first half of the roll, then it begins to print too lightly to read effectively.

    Sounds like a label issue...where is she getting the labels?

Sounds like a faulty Ribbon, check the labels as well to make sure they are not Direct Thermal. Regarding the Ribbon, get in touch with your supplier and get reccomendations

Dymo LabelWriter 450 Twin Turbo - Until recently worked fine from both sides. Suddenly, no longer printing from left - prints half a label, then stops, then error message says Out of Paper, the blue light...


See if it still happens using a fresh label roll. From the Dymo 450 User Guide the common causes of poor print quality issues.

Poor print quality is most frequently caused by one of the following:
• An old roll of labels
• Labels made by a manufacturer other than DYMO
• Labels where the thermal coating has been compromised
• A dirty print head
First, make sure you are using DYMO-branded labels. Do not use third-party labels because the thermal coating on other labels has a different sensitivity than DYMO-branded labels. Also, the perforated holes between the labels made by other manufacturers are frequently not detectable by LabelWriter printers.
If the print quality becomes faint, small dots of white appear scattered through the printed characters, or light and dark patches of printing appear, you are probably using a faulty roll of labels. Try using a different roll from a fresh box. If the second roll prints correctly, the problem is with the first roll of labels.
Another possibility is that the LabelWriter print head needs cleaning. Every LabelWriter printer comes with a cleaning card. See "Caring for Your Printer" on page 17 for information about the
LabelWriter cleaning card.

Label writer 450 is only printing half a label and then the blue light flashes like it is out of paper. New roll, worked fine before it ran out


Make sure you use genuine DYMO labels, not compatible ones. Also, make sure you select the right size in DYMO Label.

Disconnect the USB cable and the power cable to reset the printer. Check if the roll is loaded properly - the holes between the labels have to be on the left. Connect the power cable. If the blue light is solid, connect the USB cable and try to print.

Check the DYMO Label version (Help > About). If it is below 8.5.0, you have to update it.

Printer printer duplicate labels


i have the same issue, this case happened when out of paper or ribbon, while this program and label form works fine with the zebra printer

Were the new labels thermal paper? Thermal printers need specially made paper to work right.

We have printing serial number and found duplicated in sometime


Serial numbers are often printed by custom database applications.

If you've got duplicates, you will need to adjust the counter in the database. Talk to the database programmer.

DYMO THINKS ITS OUT OF PAPER ....


New versions of the Labelwriter 400 (original and Turbo) do not take Generic Labels. It is an issue with the firmware Dymo have installed - it will only relabelwriter400.jpgad the genuine labels made by Dymo. currently there appears to be no work around to solve this isses.
The Dymo OEM labels have lines print on the back, if you use labels without these lines, the printer gives an "out of paper" error
The only printers in the Dymo Range that will take our generic labels are the Dymo Twin Turbo and the Dymo Duo (both the more expensive from the range).
Dymo have only made this change in the last 6-8 months, old 400's will work with cheaper generic labels

Address cuts off when printing large address labels


have you tried restoring your printer properties back to it's default settings? or you can also adjust your margin settings which sounds like the issue but let me know if this helps.. thanks, d

Printer keeps printing blanks...


We have found a reset that we use.
We unplug the printer and then we hold down the feed button and we keep holding down the feed button while we plug back in.
It goes through some sort of a reset and this sometimes works.

your label length is set incorrectly, there are 2 things it could be
1) your software is telling the printer the label length is longer then the current labels, even if the label size is out my a single millimeter the printer will give you this issue of feed an extra label. you need to change this in your software. you can set a label size smaller then the current label size and it will work correctly

2) you software is not setting a label length and so the printer is going off its internal setting, to recalibrate hold feed and power up the printer letting go after the light starts flashing

it is important to note that label roll will change slightly over time so even though you are ordering the same labels as a year ago the manufacturer will have slight changes from batch to batch
