I am using the Olympus DSS Player Pro for medical transcription and have been for 3 years. All of a sudden when I click on the file to transcribe, it comes up with an "INACCURATE FILE WAS SPECIFIED". So, I went into my laptop and transcribed that night with no problem. HOWEVER, the next day I got the same error on my laptop!!! Tried several different files with the same problem. Deleted the program and reinstalled it with same problem. Also, reset my registry 24 hours and still have the problem. Ran virus check. No problem found.
I'm having the same problem. Thank you, thank you for the answer. At least I'm able to listen to the file at all at this point! I am able to listen to the file when I save it to my desktop and then click open. However, I am not able to get it to open right from the company's website for whom I work. Is there a way to get it to open directly from the website rather than having to save it to my desktop first? I'm wondering if I ought to just do a system restore and undo the updates that I just allowed on my computer (the first time I've allowed updates in a year, so I'm sure it's the update issue). Any ideas would be very welcomed. Thanks!

You might have found out by now, this is happing because of the Windows updates back in November. An update is preventing the audio files from launching with the DSS Player. I found out that you can open the audio file by right-clicking the file and selecting open. Later releases of the Olympus software will not experience this issue.
