Why wont itunes recognize my ipod touch? why may

1. Reset or restore your iPod for a try, this can fix many general iPod problems. 2. You may try this iTunes alternative, I always use it to upload music and video to my iPod once my iTunes can't recognize my iPod, my friends recommend it to me, it's safe and works pretty well, you can also use it to copy music and video from ipod to computer for backup, it's useful when you lost your iTunes library. 3. Update your iTunes to the latest version. Plug in your iPod. If iTunes can't recognize it, then in iTunes in the top left corner click help> run diagnostics. On the box that comes up, check the last two things. Click next and it should identify your iPod. I got this method from Apple technical support. Hope it helps. Contact me if you have any other question.

Unlock locked ipod touch without passcode

After reading couple of threads it came to my attention that one of the major issues that a general ipod touch user faces is that some how he or she has locked his/her ipod touch and now can not unlock it. so i am going to give a easy free procedure which will help to unlock the ipod

You can use it for any Version of Ipod touch (1g,2g,3g)

CAUTION:
you will loose all of your data if they arenot backed up.
you will need internet connection for your computer.

let's begin:

#1. Download itunes from here

Install it on your computer and run.

#2.Connect your ipod touch to your pc and press and hold both home(below the display small button) and power( on the top left corner) of the ipod touch untill it turns off and restarts and shows you the connect to itune sign.

#3. your itune will know recognize your ipod touch and it will ask you to restore. Restore it.

wait till it is done restoring. now you have your ipodtouch back on its factory status and unlocked.
hope this will help.

New itouch, downloaded apps will only open for a second. help!

Before I begin, I must state that my expertise is limited because of the small amount of details you have provided. I will post my best solution now, but please show more detail in the future.

I am assuming if the iPod touch is new, it is a 3G (third generation, not to be confused with the 3G data network). Either way, my solution would be about the same for the 1G, 2G, or 3G. I own a 2G right now.

The "only open for a second" problem is called "crashing". The fact that it is crashing could mean that you need the most security, available in Apple's latest software updates. Please try to download the latest update by reading the below instructions:

If you haven't already, please download and install the latest version of iTunes from www.apple.com/itunes . Then, plug your iPod into the computer via the USB cord that came with the iPod. After iTunes and your computer both recognize it, click on your iPod in iTunes. Then click Check for Software Update to download and install the latest iPod touch software directly from Apple for the most security.

Cheers and good luck,

Ipod touch wont turn on unless pluged into computer

Itmaybe a battery problem...if you think its not a battery problem, you may want to try a software upgrade/restore...if your software version is already the latest one, backup all the ipod contents before you restore...you will find the restore option in the summary tab in itunes.

My Computer and iTunes does not recognize my iPod Touch

Try resetting it while it is connected. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If you have not already tried, I would also try the other ports on the computer.

Are you running iTunes 8?

And what kind of computer do you have?

My Computer and iTunes does not recognize my iPod

Try this: turn off your ipod, hold the home button, and plug it into itunes while still holding the home button until a picture of the itunes symbol appears with a cable under it. itunes should say "ipod found in restore mode". This will completely reset your ipod, hopefully fixing any bugs or problems in it. also, you will lose all data saved on the ipod that isn't also backed up by itunes. Music, pictures, and video can be re-synced.
