It depends what kind of wireless are you connecting to. If it is your home network, try accessing the rougher options page and turning off wireless security to see if you are able to connect. The message can come up if specific authentication is needed with your router. Also it might be that you changed your workgroup/domain for your computer settings. If you can get more details here I will come up with some adivse

Hi!

Here's the solution to your problem:

1. Go to Control Panel > Network Connections
2. Right-click on Wireless Network Connection > Properties
3. Click on Wireless Networks tab. Remove all the names under Preferred Networks box.
4. Click on Add button. Type the Name or SSID of your wireless network
5. If you have encryption enabled, uncheck the box at the bottom "The Key is Provided for Me Automatically".
6. Type in your wireless encryption key in the given boxes.
7. Now click on Authentication tab. Uncheck the box that has the "Enable IEEE Authentication".
8. Click Apply and OK all the way out. Restart your computer.
9. It should be able to connect wirelesly.

Why am I having problems signing into my GMAIL account? Please see the error message below

This problem should be addressed by Gmail. It could be anything from something running on your computer/browser to an internal issue on their server. The customer service team at Gmail would be more then happy to help find the problem with you. I wish I could help more but I am a casual user of their mail services like you.

Always sign into any e-mail site your using directly from their web address in this case: www.gmail.com if at all possible.

When in doubt, just type the name of the site directly or use trusted favorites/bookmark links you have saved. If you are already doing this then Gmail Customer Service will need to help you further.

I am trying to access my hotmail account and get "access denied" - you don't have permission to access "/D/864/193170/000/sslcachekey.bayw.mail.live.com/default.aspx?id=64855" on this server

I had this problem a short time ago, and it resolved when I signed in to my outlook account on my laptop. I never used it that way before, but this seemed to be needed. Otherwise try using Firefox brouser to go to Hotmail.

Certificate error on web site.

This is basically an Internet Explorer 7 Website’s Security Certificate problem! You have to self-sign the certificate on the client computer or add the URL manually to the trusted security zone. When you are trying to access a secure web page, you receive the warning message:

"There is a problem with this website's security certificate. The security certificate presented by this website was not issued by a trusted certificate authority."

Or

"Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept data you send to the server."

To fix this issue, you can follow either of the methods:

Method 1:

You have to install the Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003 (Windows SBS) self-signed certificate on the client computer. To do this, follow these steps:

  • In Windows Internet Explorer 7, click Continue to this website (not recommended).
A red Address Bar and a certificate warning appear.
  • Click Certificate Error button to open the information window.
  • Click View Certificates > click Install Certificate.
  • Click Yes, to install the certificate, when warning message appear.

Note: For Windows Vista users, right click on Internet Explorer icon. Select Run as Administrator.

Method 2:

Add the URL to the Trusted Sites security zone:

  • Open Internet Explorer
  • Go to Menu bar > Tools > Internet Options.

    tool.jpg
  • Click Security > Trusted sites > Sites

    sec.jpg
  • Type the URL in the Add this website to the zone text box > uncheck Require server verification >Add > click OK

    trust.jpg
  • Click OK to exit.

Now you have added the URL successfully into the Trusted Sites security zone.

When I type in my browser www.ebay.com it goes to the home page. When I hit the sign in page it says: problem with website security certificate. the security presented by this website has expired or is not...

1. try using this address https://signin.ebay.com
2. check you system date, if it's not right than your browser would think that the security certificate is expired
3. i recommend updating your browser and/or using the latest Mozilla Firefox browser http://firefox.com/
