Water leaks out of Eureka Atlantis Steam cleaner...

As soon as I place the water tank into the machine it leaks ( pours) all over the floor. I'm wondering if I'm missing a rubber valve in the bottom of the machine, where the water tank sits? There is a black rubber washer/valve in the bottom of the soap dispenser section, but not in the water section. In the water section, it is just a pin that the tank fits onto that triggers the value to release the water.
Does anyone have a parts doagram that shows this?
Thanks for any help! :)

SOURCE: No suction or spray - Eureka Atlantis Steam Cleaner

I got the machine working. I think because it hadn't been used for awhile that the seals were dried out. I wet them and let it sit for awhile and then I could push the containers all the way in and seated them properly. Then it started working no problem and I got to clean my carpets.

If the pump isn't making noise, try the rest fuse button.
If that's not it, your pump motor or solenoid is toast.

No suction means that the motor for the fan isn't working. You must dismantle it to access the motor and find out if it's powered. If it's not then you must check the connectors and the start button. If they are ok then the motor itself has failed. In that case you can throw the entire vacuum away, a new motor will cost you as much as a new unit.

My steam cleaner is leaking as soon as i put the clean water tank on machine

The most common reason for leakage is that the reservoir assembly has gone bad. If you look in the area behind the tank, you will see a rod that pushes down on a small round rubber seal when you squeeze the trigger. The assembly being pushed on is the reservoir, and the internal valve may be bad. This would require replacement of the assembly. ( Part # 43526016, msrp $6.49 ). Another possibility is that the seal that the tank sits on is worn or missing. There is a round black rubber seal that the tank sits on. There is a plastic pin in the middle which opens the tank outlet valve. I sometimes see this seal missing - usually because a child has pulled it off. If it is missing it must be replaced. ( Part # 38784060, msrp $1.29)

Where can i get the shampoo? Can i find the owners manual online?

you should be able to get the shampoo at wal-mart and any place else they sell the steam cleaners. You do not have to use the eureka shampoo for this unit, however, it is more recommended.

I mean you can use the hoover, and dirt devil shampoo if you can find that, or something generic. Because the machine is mixing the soap for you with the water, anything will work.

As for the owners manual, you can get it here.

Water tank valve is leaking out of the bottom of the tank. The water leaks on the floor.

it could be a cheap fix. There should be a rubber o ring that's worn or ate away by chemicals.
I'm hoping the tank isn't cracked.
Remove o ring. Contact repair place. O ring shouldn't be more than 5.00.

I used my new proheat 2x steam cleaner the first

You may have mislaid a piece when you took your Bissell apart to clean it after using it the first time.

I experimented with mine to try and reproduce your issue. On the bottom of the water tank, there are two pieces that can be removed from it. One of them looks like a black plug at one end, with a red rubber flange piece on the other end. If you push your finger inside the red rubber piece, you can feel a spring move up and down. This is the first piece you place on the bottom of the water tank. I suspect you have this piece, because if you didn't, water would gush out of the water tank as soon as you turned it over after filling it.

The other piece, which is the one I think you may have have mislaid, is a larger black, plastic ring with screw threads. This piece goes over the top of the first plug piece, screws onto the water tank, and holds the plug in place. The words "RECLOSE TIGHTLY" appear on mine. If this piece is missing, the water tank does not sit flat on the base of the Bissell, but kind of flops around, out-of-place, and the unit will not dispense water properly, though it may leak it.

If ithat piece is gone, it should be possible to reorder it. Start here:
http://www.bissell.com/Customer_Service.aspx

If that's not the problem, if you have all the water tank pieces, I wonder if perhaps you unscrewed one black screw to remove the clear front plastic piece from the base of the unit-- the piece through which water is drawn up off the carpet-- to clean it, and didn't get it back into place properly. Make sure the two hooks at the bottom of this piece are inserted, one per side, into the clear plastic side pieces at the bottom. If the hooks are not secured properly, before trying to reinsert them, unscrew the black plastic screw so you don't break the tab. It's easy to miss getting these one of those hooks back in right, but it's important to do that before trying to screw the clear front plastic piece into place.

Dirty water is not going into the tank, it's leaking out the bott

Check the little door at the back of the unit where the hose attachment plugs in. It has to be shut really tightly and it takes a quick fist smack on it to get mine to "click" and be shut. If that isn't sealed it could leak both clean and dirty water to the floor.

Also, take the dump tank off, check the filter (near the top where the dump tank connects on the machine side) is clear. Also make sure the rubber seal around the filter isn't loose or cracked. Then put the dump tank back on making sure the bottom is seated well first and then CLICK the top into place when you push it to the upright/in place position.

If you are using the hose attachment, make sure it is clicked into place tightly. I have to put one hand on the front of the machine to push toward the back while pushing the other hand on the hose to get it to click tightly in place. If it's not really snapped in there, it will leak.

Good luck!

Hoover Steam Vac clean water tank valve leaks

a) make sure that there is not a place for a stair attachment. If
there is make sure air is not leaking through where the attachment goes
on because of damaged or misplaced fitting.

b) some steam vacs leave water behind them and **** up in front of
them. If you just walked forwad with the steam vac nothing would be
sucked into the tank.

c) try taking your finger off the trigger and using the steam vac. If
the tank still empties the trigger is stuck open.

d) try putting clean water in the dirty water tank only and using it on
a dry rug. If water goes somewhere from the dirty water tank you have
a leak.

e) take apart what you can and look at the parts. A good visual
inspection can solve many of these types of problem if you are careful
not to miss anything.
