Question about Dell V305w All-In-One R840635AU InkJet Printer

Hooked up my new Dell printer - Dell V305 - followed instructions 1-9 - but keep on getting an error message about the tape on the cartridge - to remove - but I did - and reinserted but can't stop getting but an error message - any suggestions?

Okay, take the cartridge out and just double check that there are no small pieces still remaining on the cartridge, then check to make sure that there is nothing between the cartridge and the contact head. If there is still a problem I would call Dell.

Dell v305 printer allignment problem


Hello Michelle,

You are using Dell Series 9 ink cartridges, correct?

If you unplug the printer from the wall and remove the power brick for 60 seconds, this will reset any error messages the printer has. I would then plug everything back in.

Power on the printer.

Open the printer(with the power on) and take out the Dell Series 9 black cartridge and then reseat it. I would then take out the color Dell Series 9 ink cartridge and reseat it. Now close the printer and it will print an alignment page.

Any error messages?

black cartridge = black side(left side) color cartridge = color side(right side)
photo cartridge = black side(left side) color cartridge = color side(right side)

It's possible to get a Dell Series 9 ink cartridge with a bad sensor. I would take these back to the place of purchase for a replacement.

I have a Dell v313w that I bought with my laptop almost two years ago. After initial set up, the printer worked well wirelessly for about 12 pages. After contacting Dell, they explained to me anout the...


1) Uninstall your printer.
2) Hook up the original usb cable to your laptop, as you did when you originally hooked up the printer.
3) Reinstall the printer with the disk as if it were fresh out of the box.
4) Remember to do exactly as the disk's instructions tell you to do.

If the ink cartridges aren't Dell compatible then you have just wasted ($35).

I just got new ink cartridges for my Dell V305 and it says that there is an alignment problem that can not be automatically fixed. There is no tape on the cartridges. What to do?


Hi

I believe the the carriage of the ink cartridge had jammed. Open the cartridge door and turn off your printer. Move the print head from left to right and from right to left. Close the printer door and try to print again if the error message disappear.

I am getting the following error message: Black/photo cartridge missing


Unplug the printer from the wall. Now remove the power brick from the back of the printer for 60 seconds. Plug everything back in. This will reset any error messages the printer has.

Power on the printer. Open the printer and take out the Dell Series 5 Black cartridge. make sure all the tape is off the cartridge and put the cartridge back in. Now do the same for the Dell Series 5 color cartridge.

Close the printer. It should print an alignment page. Any error messages?

Black cartridge = black side(left side) color cartridge = color side(right side)

Photo cartridge = black side(left side) color cartridge = color side(right side)

Dell Series 5 ink cartridges have a sensor in them that cannot be reset. Article on refilling Dell ink cartridges.

Dell Series 5 ink cartridges can be purchased at Staples, Walmart or Dell's Website.

If these ink cartridges are new, then take them to the place of purchase for a refund or replacements. If they're old, then try purchasing a new Dell Series 5 ink cartridge.

There is usually tape protecting the ink nozzle on the bottom of the ink cartridge. Did you remove this before inserting it into the printer?

Can't find "cartridge error 50C" in my Dell owner's manual


Cartridge Error 50C
Your print cartridge has shorted.
  1. Power off your All-in-One and unplug it.
  2. Plug in your All-in-One again and turn it on.
  3. Uninstall and then reinstall your cartridges.
  4. If this does not resolve the issue, try the troubleshooting steps for the other cartridge errors below.
Cartridge Error
Complete the following instructions:
  1. Power off your All-in-One.
  2. Use both hands to lift up the scanner unit until the scanner support holds it open.
  3. Turn the All-in-One on. The print cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position, unless the All-in-One is busy.
  4. Remove the color print cartridge.
  5. Lower the scanner unit until it is completely closed.
  6. If the error message reappears, replace the black print cartridge with a new print cartridge.
    If it does not repeat steps 1-3 and then go to step 7.
  7. Reinstall the color cartridge and remove the black print cartridge.
  8. Lower the scanner unit until it is completely closed.
  9. If the error message occurs again, replace the color cartridge.
  10. If an error message reappears, repeat steps 1-3 and reinstall both print cartridges.
  11. Lower the scanner unit until it is completely closed.
  12. If you receive the error message again, replace both cartridges.
