Question about Computers & Internet
In brief, power button mechanism fell apart, actual switch seems ok, front panel disconnected without noting connections. Pwr led= greeen/white cables, HD led=red/white, pwr swch=black/white. Numbering the m/bd pins 1 to 4 on top row and 5 to 9 on the bottom, can you tell me the correct plug to pin orientation. At moment pwr led cable is on green/pin 1 white/pin 2, HD led cable red on pin 5 white pin 6, pwr swch cable black on pin7 white pin 8, but nothing works. If pwr swch tried on wrong pins, could this have ''killed'' motherboard. PSU is known to be fine by the way.
The power switch is on the 3 and 4 pins....the 7 and 8 pin are the reset pins. Trying it on wrong pins just won't startup the board but won't short circuit anything.
