Hello,

Unless you are really, really good at remanufactoring cards, the best thing is to purchase a new card, install and continue enjoying your pictures.

    • 1 Visit the Sony Support site (see Resources) and download the Sony memory card software. You will need to specify your operating system. Save the file to your desktop.
    • 2 Double-click the downloaded file to launch the installer.
    • 3 Follow the onscreen instructions to install the Sony memory card software. Restart the computer after completion. Once the computer starts back up, it will recognize the Memory Stick Pro Duo when inserted into the computer's memory card reader. You can browse the files using Windows Explorer or the installed x-Pict Story software.

Try the flash card reader. Locate the drive letter for the sony memory stick.

In dos window, type 'chkdsk X:' (X is the drive letter of the memory stick). Chkdsk will report the condition of the memory. If it is corrupted it will prompt you to fix. Fix the files - new files will be created with a different extension. You will need to change the extension back to .jpg to view the files.

Hope this works for you.

Sony memory stick PRO duo 4gb card says memory full when empty

I would suggest formating the memory card through the options on your camera. If you reformat the memory card and you still get the same error then you have a bad card. Just like anything else the cards will break down internally over time.

My sandisk memory stick pro duo wont work anymore

I have a Sony Cybershot DSC T70 and it keeps saying "Reinsert memory stick" whenever I turn on the camera or slide down the camera lid. Also, whenever I try to view the pictures on my laptop it shows "Please reinsert the memory stick" something along those lines. As I have been researching for the solution, I would have to format the memory card. However, I wouldn't want to lose the pictures as I just took many as from the holiday last week. The only problem is the memory card, I tried using another memory card and it works fine with the camera. There is nothing wrong with the camera.\r\nCan someone please help me how to solve the memory stick problem? It would be great. Ty.

My memory stick pro duo won't fit into either of the two computers I have available to me, because it's too small. When I try to put it in, it just seems to be way too small.

I advise buying an inexpensive card reader, that accepts different forms of USB flash drives, including yours.

You just plug the USB cable of this card reader into your computer, and insert your Sony memory stick.

How about this one for an example?
