What about custom orthotics? They are so expensive, should I buy them or use cheap ones from the store?

Custom made orthotics last long, up to 5-6 years, and although they are quite expensive. Just calculate, how much that will cost, and how much time you will spend going and buying new ones every 6 months or a year - custom orthotics

Plantar fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis can be diagnosed very easily and accurately. Pain in front of the heel, first step in the morning is a clear indicator. Properly fitted full custom orthotics will cure this problem, usually within two weeks or less. But beware, not all orthotics are designed properly. There is plenty of snake oil available. To test your likely benefit from orthotics, roll up a sock, wash cloth or something similar and put it under your arch in your shoes. Feels better, yes? IMHO, Sole Supports makes the best functional orthotic on the market, and are available nation wide from podiatrists, chiropractors, athletic trainers, physical therapists and others. Check their website solesupports.com. In all honesty, I am the general counsel for Sole Supports, but I really believe we have the best product of this type, and have grown from a one man operation behind the inventor\'s house to now having about 100 employees, with gross sales of 8.5 million last year.

Do shoe inserts help with bunions?

Padded shoe inserts can help distribute pressure evenly when you move your feet, reducing your symptoms and preventing your bunion from getting worse. Over-the-counter arch supports can provide relief for some people, though others may require prescription orthotic devices.

I bought a pair of Dr Scholl's CF 430 custom fit orthotic inserts. So far they are not helping my foot pain. I'm wondering if I am inserting them correctly. I put the colored part down, and the...

The blank side, if that's the side that has the heel cup, should be facing up. Also, there is a left foot one and a right foot one. Make sure you have each one in the correct shoe I don't know how long you have been using them, but they don't promise immediate relief. Because your foot and the rest of your body has to adjust to using them. Keep in mind, they are correcting problems with your feet that you may have had for a long time. It isn't going to happen over night or in a couple of days.

Plantar facitis

I am unclear of what you are asking. If you want more information about it, check out Pedorthic and podiatric sites. How long have you had PF? what interventions have you had? If you wear orthotics, will they fit in the shoes?
