SOURCE: Could I get some more info on a Yamaha clarinet

That's the serial #. I can't look up any Yamaha info by serial #. I you go to www.yamaha.com click on musical instruments, then support, you can call or email them directly to get model, product info, owners guides can be downloaded, warranty info and replacement parts can be found. It's a very user friendly site. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: I have a Buffet clarinet

Music they say is beautiful to the ears but this beauty only comes out as a result of the precision which is produced by the combination of the various components which make up a musical instrument. The various mouth pieces go through a different procedure in their making therefore produce a different sound. To produce the best sound for your device it will be best for you to get the exchange if it is the exact thing for your unit. Here is a link to help you read a little more about Van Doren's lagatures

I have clarinet with serial number p0048746, I think , it is Selmer but not sure, because there is nothing only serial number. Is it Selmer clarinet with this serial?

Make sure of your serial number. Then take it to a music store that deals with clarinets. You need to know what type/brand of clarinet you before you can know. I do know that Selmer #'s are nowhere close to the serial $ you provided.

Clarinet origin

It would be easier if the instrument was in hand to figure it out.
Your best bet to ID the instrument is to take it to the best woodwind repair man or the largest woodwind selling music store in your area for an opinion. If you do not know of a repair man, contact your nearest AFM Musician's Union to get a referal. To find them check out this link-

Purchased clarinet new last week:-- so hard to play -- PLayed the Buffet e13 before is this normal for a new wooden one? I feel like a beginner and so does the tone seem incomplete???

You don't mention what type of clarinet you have bought. Without this info I cannot answer or even guess, my guesses are very well educated, what the problem is.

I have a Yamaha Clarinet serial number 004828 what does that mean?

Serial numbers used to be used to tell the age of instruments. It seems now with Yamaha they are used as a tracking number for accounts purposes.

Purchased Buffet r13 (serial # 555623) new, six months ago. Still under warranty. Since then have had technicians try to adjust mid b c key problems as well as others. R13 B660 is burned into the barrel....

The model designation for R13s is not usually on the upper and lower joints. If it was a Prestige, Tosca etc, it might have a little metal plaque on the top joint, but not on a regular R13.

Perhaps you could try a different repair technician - your run of the mill instrument repair person (even the guy who works where you bought it!) may not have the skills needed to really fine tune a professional instrument.
