Distorted sound

It is very possible that a speaker is bad. If you have the connections, try connecting external speakers to the TV to see if it still has the distortion. If so, then the audio output on the TV is bad.

Hmm..just got PreSonus "TubePre" and

The signal SHOULD be line level which you can run into most any line level input. This level is considerably higher than a mic by itself...around 50 Db or so higher.

My hot rod deluxe has internal distortion problems.

There are many components in the system. Electrolytic capacitors are most suspect. C49, C50, C45, C51

There are many others but these are top suspects. You MAY be able to detect a change by cooling these components with circuit cooler spray.

ALSO check the +/- 16 volt power sources in the unit.

I just got a tubePre and trying to connect the micro to my computer. Can anyone help me?

pre ams is either for mic or instruments..you can try connecting stuff to it----than from output to your sound card which probably is external as well ---and than from external sound card via usb or firewire to your computer

somekind of hardware side failure or bad drivers.
I hear sounds from my audio output if i connect my headphones there directly but when I connect it to my speaker system they filter the distortion.

Distorted speaker sound

It might be that you have a bad solder joint somewhere. Try shaking the speaker when playing, but be careful not to short the speaker wire connections. If it returns to normal at any point this is a dry joint somewhere.
