Problem with the phone and not the land line
if the land line was faulty , you would not get incoming calls

I suspect a polarity problem in the wiring at one of the phones. If you have a security system incorporated in your phone that too could create a problem

Try a harware reset! dont worry this will not delete anything on your handset. it is a simple procedure:
while the phone is on take out the battery and then the sim
then insert the battery by itself and power it up.
It should ask to insert a sim or something along those line.
when it does take the battery out again while the phone is on.
put it all back together and power the phone up again.
If this does not work.
Try MnuL ROm in network settings. search manualy and select a different network to what you are on and then do the same and go back to your service provider. then reset back to automatic.
if that does not work there is one more thing.
if the handset is 3G try setting to GSM mode only.
