I have used Jaso MB oil in Honda Shadow

Hi, Anonymous ask 10 different riders and you will get 10 different answers. All oil is certified by the Oil Gods to perform under specific conditions for specific applications and any oil is better than no oil and if you're in a bind diesel oil works just fine. If your engine is air cooled never run automotive oil because normal motorcycle cylinder head temperatures run much hotter than water cooled cylinder heads, make sure the oil is designed for motorcycles. Your owners manual recommends a specific type of oil that is designed to lubricate the engine parts to withstand the normal driving conditions the motorcycle was intended to be used for end of story. Now for an analogy, your cars owners manual recommends using 87 octane fuel to power your engine for maximum performance and it does a wonderful job in achieving that goal. But you say 92 octane is better because it has a higher number and is more expensive, well guess what your car will not run any better and there are no long or short term benefits from running a higher octane fuel bottom line your car doesn't need it. Same thing with oil sure they make lubricants that can withstand the temperature of molten lava which you would need if you were planning to drive into an active volcano, don't waste your time and money on snake oil just use what your bike needs and your manufacturer recommends and nothing more. The oil weight grade is for ambient temperatures you expect to drive in between oil changes 20w50 covers 80% of all driving temperature conditions if your looking for the best oil that works in all temperature conditions, buy a Synthetic in the same grade from a reputable oil manufacturer I personally recommend AMSOIL just because they were the pioneers in synthetics and their load test numbers for wear put them in a class all by themselves and you can go longer and further in between oil changes. It's a little hard to find in stores but easily available on line otherwise check with your Dealership for their recommendation on a synthetic.

Can i use 100%synthetic motor oil? oil grade is 5w-50 si/sj/cf and acea a3/b3/b4..for hero honda hunk engin.please advice me

Use only synthetic oil with the JASO MA rating. Any car oil that is energy conserving will cause excessive wear on you clutch plates and drive gears. Automotive synthetics are not designed for motorcycle wet clutches and can cause slipping or even failure of a motorcycle clutch plates through over lubrication. An inexpensive full synthetic oil to try would be Shell Rotella T synthetic (about $22 per gallon). Do not use automotive synthetic oil in your motorcycle, it could end up costing you a lot of time and money. Look for the JASO MA Rating on the bottle.

What kind of oil for craftsman 8.5 hp lawn mower

I would use a Briggs and Stratton oil if it has a Briggs engine on it. If it has a Honda or other engine from another manufacturer I would use their oil if possible. I would NOT use Automotive engine oil.. The heat range that the oil breaks down is lower in automotive oils than in the small air cooled engines which run around 200 to 300 degrees hotter than an automotive engine. If you cannot find the correct oil, I would use the Briggs and Stratton oil. It is available most everywhere, even in Wal-Mart.
I hope this helps. :)

How many quarts of engine oil holds 06 honda shadow 1100

Use only a JASO MA certified motorcycle oil. Automotive oil uses different additives and will shorten the life of your wet clutch and transmission gears. Shell Rotella T Synthetic (15w-40 about $22) and Shell Rotella standard oil ($12 a gallon) for diesel engines , both are JASO MA rated for motorcycles.10w-40 oil is good for cold climate. 20w-50 for hot climate/touring. Synthetic oil will make your cycle run cooler and shift easier. For the engine you will probably need four quarts of oil, a spin on filter, and a drain plug washer . Pour in three quarts and check the oil level by placing your motorcycle on the center standard looking at looking at the dip stick. Run the motor and top up as needed.
If changing the oil filter you will have to run the motor to get an accurate oil level reading.
Your final drive uses 80/90 hypoid gear oil. Synthetic hypoid oil will reduce friction and make your final drive run cooler.

What kind of oil do i need for my 2003 honda shadow ace 750

Usually motorcycle-grade 10w30 or 10w40 works well. NEVER use automotive oil in your bike. It was fine to do back in the 80's, but not now. Automotive oils have too many additives in them and eventually cause clutch slippage in motorcycles. Cars don't have oil-dampened clutches in their engines. So they can use slipperier additives.

You can use any high quality automotive engine oil. Multi-grade Castrol GTX is good - and is available everywhere, but I prefer the Honda four-stroke engine oil because it seems to make the transmission shift smoother. No matter which oil you choose, be sure to use the correct viscosity for the temperatures in your area. The K&N 401 oil filter is a suitable replacement oil filter for your Honda.
