Question about Car Audio & Video
Way to get the radio serial number is through these steps:
Once you have found the BMW radio code, make sure that you have a copy that is not stored in your car. Through these steps you can easily locate the radio car code in your BMW.

These radio codes are locked into the BMW network not only by the serial number on the radio but also the VIN code of the car from which it came. You cannot get an unlock code from anyone other than a BMW Dealer.
You will have to go to a Dealer with proof of identity and proof of ownership (if you have a receipt) in order to get the code. Some dealers are a lot more stringent about this than others especially if you have no connecting VIN code for that radio.
If the radio came from a breakers you may be able to get the old cars VIN code from them which may help. Some dealers do not charge a fee for this service - others make a small charge.
There is no other means to obtain these codes due to the strict security of these by BMW.
Hope this helps. Please remember to rate my answer. Many Thanks.
