I have a PNY 2 GB micro sd card that some one gave me and it had music but i tried erasing da music on da computer but it said its write coppied and i formated da memory card in my phone n erased everythin...

look at page "3/9" of this document "http://www.pqi.com.tw/upload/download/SD%20%284%29.pdf" and it will show on the lower right hand side of the picture a slot that says "write protect", move that tab to unlock the card.

BTW this is a good technical document for SD cards in general if you are interested in how they function.

I can't get the pictures erase from the card , it's says( memory card is write protected)

Look at your memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

My memory card say "protected

Take the memory card out of the camera and look at it. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

My Camera Wont Let Me Take Pictures It Says Card Protected What Can I Do?

There are several possible causes for "memory card locked/protected", "memory card error", or "no memory card". Some include trying to use of a 4GB SDHC card with an older camera made before SDHC format came out. Others include problems with the tiny slide switch on the side of the card, or the electrical contact switch internal to the camera. The problem may also arise from simple formatting problems if the card has never been formatted in the camera (note that this will also erase the card). Troubleshooting tips for this problem may be found at this link.

Want to copy some files to a memory card from a laptop but it says that the memory card is write-protected. how do i remove the write-protection to copy the files.

Some memory cards are having a write protection switch integrated on the side or on the back of the memory card for preventing the content from being erased or overwritten by accident, just like floppy disks. Both SD Memory Card and xD-Picture Card have their write protection switch on the side of the memory card in contrast to the Memory Stick PRO and some Memory Stick Duo that have their switch on the back of the card.

The SmartMedia Card is also supporting write protection but not with a switch. For protecting the SmartMedia Card's content you need to put a sticker on the card's write protection pad. It is the circle that can be found in the middle of the card, when facing the front of the card.

Memory card is write protected it wont let me erase my pics

Try unlocking the write protection on your camera. The user's manual should explain how to do so thru the camera's software settings.
Otherwise, you can open it up on your computer using a memory card reader (a piece of hardware that your can buy at Wal-Mart for less than $20) and copy off your pictures that way, then erase them off the card while connected to your computer. You can also turn off the card's write protection while it's connected to the computer via the card reader.

CARD LOCKED appears oo screen, camera wont work?

Does this camera take a memory card, separate from the built-in memory of the camera? If so, remove that memory card and look closely at all sides and edges, to make sure that there is not a read-only protection switch on it.
Many of these memory cards have tiny switches, sliders back and forth, that protect the memory from being erased.
If you slid that switch into the locked position without being aware that it is there, and without knowing that you did, then the error message makes sense.
Remove the memory card and look at it very carefully.

Camera wont back up to memory card

Hi there.
Check to make sure the write protection is turned off on the memory card itself, the write protection tab is located on the left hand side of the card and is usually coloured white.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!
