How do you download music to an mp3 player from a cd?

Normal audio CD tracks should be converted to mp3 files onto the computer's hard drive, first.
This is called ripping or RIP function.
There are several programs that can RIP audio CD.
It is important to convert music into the correct bitrate for the player to match for playback. (192 kbps is good quality and often used)
You can use Windows Media Player 10 or 11 for conversion.

When you use WMP 10 or 11 and the player is detected in the program:
1. Tell the player were your music library is: setup your music library.
2. Create a playlist; make playlist name and add mp3 files to the list.
3. Synchronize the playlist with mp3 files to the player.

If the player cannot be detected in WMP 10 or 11, but only can be viewed as a removable disk in "My Computer" : use the "copy and paste" or "drag and drop" method to put mp3 files from the computer onto the player.

How do i delete all music/files on iriver as I want to start putting albums on again from scratch please?

I find that the easiest way is to open WMP (Windows Media Player) hook up your iRiver to your PC. WMP should recognize it sometimes you have to do it a few times. I think the f5 key will search for the player if it doesn't auto recognized in WMP. When the player shows up highlight the songs you want to delete and hit the x icon on the screen this will remove the songs. You can highlight one and hit cntr + A to highlight them all and delete them all at once ... hopefully this helps

My mp3 says that i don't have anymore space, but it only shows 10

I'm not sure what you are asking, but maybe my experience can help you. I was using Windows 2000 (it has no DRM) and the Sansa C240 was displayed in Windows Explorer like a removable drive. I could copy and delete files in Windows Explorer. I switched to Windows XP and when I connected the C240, no files were displayed for it in Windows Explorer. I realized that XP had DRM and all the media files had to be transfered with Windows Media Player. When I opened WMP, it recognized the C240, but it didn't list any of the mp3 files I had already loaded on the C240. WMP asked if I wanted to delete all the media currently on the C240, but I clicked No. After that, WMP worked like the old files didn't exist. It would only delete files that had been copied to the C240 when it was synced.
I would recommend that you use Windows Media Player (or WinAmp) to delete all old media files on the C240 and use the sync button to copy and delete files from the C240. See Windows Media Player help for details.

Help downloading onto computer

This is an easy process, just connect a commercial USB cable that is compatible with your device or the USB cable that came with it to ur computer. go to my computer and double click on the MP3 player drive icon. Navigate to the MP3 drive folder where ur music files are stored, launch windows media player( WMP 11 is AVAILABLE AT MICROSOFT.COM/DOWNLOADS) or if you already have windows media player 11, that's good. click on tools in WMP and select OPTIONS, click on LIBRARY and click on MONITOR FOLDERS. select ADD to add your MP3 player drive to the list of monitored folders, after you finish adding the MP3 player to the list, click on OK and windows will search the drive for music and video files and add them to your WMP Library.

Sansa Shaker is locking up Windows Media Player

Uninstall all of the Sansa software completely, and see if Windows Media Player behaves normally. If it does not, then uninstall Windows Media Player. Reinstall Windows Media Player first. Then reinstall the Sansa software. Then and only then, plug the Sansa back into the computer. Good luck!

Sansa e260 won't accept songs

Hi Janworks4u. Question for you... Did your mp3 work fine with WMP 10? I ask because WMP 11 is known for causing problems w/mp3 players. You can try reverting to WMP 10 to see if that fixes your problem. To do this:

click START, click on CONTROL PANEL, ADD OR REMOVE PROGRAMS (look at the top center of the Add or Remove Programs box that pops up for a little square you can click on that says "show updates." Click that box and then scroll down to WMP 11. Click to change/remove. A box will pop up confirming that you will revert to WMP 10. NOTE THIS WILL NOTE DELETE ANYTHING FROM YOUR COMPUTER! All of your music that is in WMP 11 will still be there in WMP 10!

Now you can try to load your songs back on through WMP 10 and hopefully it'll work for you. Good luck!
