Question about Zyxel P660HW-D1 Router
I have a zyxel p660hw wireless router which is connected to my pc via and ethernet cable. I also have a laptop which connects to the router wirelessly. My problem is that when the laptop connects to the router and is on the internet, the desktop pc then cannot connect to the internet. When i disconnect the laptop the desktop pc then can connect again??!!
The laptop connects using its inbuilt wireless connector. What have i done wrong?? pls help i have been searching for an answer to this for ages.
I had an almost identical problem and contacted Tech support at Zyxel. They were excellent and the guy talked me through to a solution. The main issue related to 'Bandwith management' which defaults to active on the router configuration. Unset all three (Wan, Lan, Wlan) and see if it sorts out problem. Because of some other issues I did have to reset the router to start with and on the wireless client I unset 'Obtain IP address automatically' and used an IP address with the default gateway set to the router address. If this does not help, I would recommend talking to Zyxel Tech Support, the consultant I spoke to was brilliant.

Win XP manages my Zyxel G-202 and there was a problem that no ip-address was possible to get from Zyxel router. I added router gateway address to "Advanced TCP/IP settings" and now connection seems to work fine.

Are you connecting via the AOL software?

It seems that your router may not be configured properly, make sure that your router is configured in a pppoe mode , and when you connect your computer, do not use a connection manager(i.e) do not enter the user name and passwd, when you try to go online with the laptop and the desktop, just open ie and try top go online.. if it prompts for user name and passwd, try this steps top avoid it,
open internet explorer > click tools > click internet options > click connection > select never dial a connections > and if you have any icon under dialup[ and vpn , remove the icon, then it will not prompt for user name and passwd,
and you would be able to go online both wirted and wireless,
try this out and revert back in case of any issues..
