If thts the case then you screen must not be responding where you touch that must mean that your touch screen is damaged

if you take a toothbrush and wipe the edges of the screen with the bristles it might get rid of dirt that clog the senses.

My ds lite calibration seems to be off .when i start a game the touchscreen cursor wont move from right of screen but will move up and down .when i calibrate, it does hit the individual boxes. any help plz

The touch screen membrane is made up of two layers one controls the left to right axes and the other the up and down axes with the small ribbon cable in the middle, i cant remember of hand which is which now but you get the gist, there is a fine track going around the surrounds which keep the two together and it somtimes comes slightly unstuck, a quick tip is to run the stylus around the screen applying a bit of pressure somtimes this helps to make the screen more responsive, give it a try and then recalabrate it if you still have the same problem try taking the battery out and reseting the ds and calabrate it. Worst case the touch screen may need replaceing. i hope this helps.

My Nintendo DS Lite will only power on in GBA mode if there is a game in the slot but will not with a ds game it wont even turn on to pictochat menu could it be a fuse issue or maybe my lower screen is...

make sure there is no games in the slot, then see if you can get around using the directional buttons and the a button. if you can get to the settings menu, go to the calibrate screen option. if you cannot calibrate the screen, (if the target moves but you cannot finish the calibration) then you probably have a bad screen. here is a website that can sell you ds lite parts. they are not cheap, so buy what you need, and only what you need.

When I try to calibrate it keeps going on forever. The touch screen seems to off to the right a bit. Can this be fixed??

This issue can be fixed, sometimes a bit of pressure applied to the outer rim of the screen can fix the problem. More tecnical fixes are to open the ds and check the small ribbon cable at the left of the slot1 socket above the wireless connector, make sure the cable is in properly. Next if all that fails a new touch screen is probably needed.

I replaced my DS Lite Touch Screen and now it doesn't respond.

Im really bad at describing things but I hope this helps xD

Please don't for the love of pete go buy another screen. You will only have the same problem like 50 times over.

Since the touch screen isn't working use the rrow keys and the "A" button to selct everything

Take the game out of the DS and turn it back on. Go to the options menu when the DS is on the main Screen(If you dunno what the menu icon is it's at the bottom of the screen about the centre.. the icon is a cute mini DS)

Once you are on the options menu go to the yellow screen and select it ... This is where you calibrate your DS.. i.e make the touch screen work again in most cases.

You should probably calibrate the screen weekly cause the DS is lazy and doesn't remember where the touch sensors are ..

I hope I've helped you and Good Luck xD

I cannot calibrate my nintendo ds (not lite) icons just keep going round and round.many thanks ****.

I have had the same problem,

1) try using a toothbrush around the edge of the screen, nice and gentle and between the plastic and the screen itself. Sometimes there is dust and crud that stops things working correctly, otherwise ....

2) buy the touch screen off e-bay for around 3 quids and fit it yourself, not a seriously difficult job (buy a tri-wing screwdriver as well so you can open up the DS)

None responsive DS lite screen

It sounds like you need a replacement touch screen. They are reasonably simple to replace if you're confident with taking it apart, otherwise you'll need to pay for a repair. You can buy touchscreen on ebay fairly cheaply.
