Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

We have a Sony LCD Projection TV, 2005, Serial # 9018748, Model # KDF-50WE655, with a 49 inch screen. Our problem is that there are two parallel strips of blue light that run from the bottom of the screen to the top at each side. interfering with the picture. Is this a problem that can be remedied with a new projection tube, or is it more serious? If it is just a matter of changing a tube, how can we order one, install one, or contact a technician to do this for us? Do we need to get a technician out to our home to determine the problem? Do we need to purchase a new TV?

Projection tvs are great and not so great. New they are big bright and great to watch. Unfortunately the go out fast, bulbs, power supplies, color wheels/engines. By suggestion is to buy a new tv, not that they dont have problems but you will get more lifetime out of the newer techonlogies (lcd-plasma)
