SOURCE: karcher HDS 750 HOT HIGH PRESSURE WASHER

G-day Mate.

Did you check if the igniters? they may be cloged up with ****. Unscrew the Sight glass on top of the boiler and run the machine (in cold or hot mode, doesn't matter, as the igniters are running all the time) and see if there are working, you should take them out anyway and give them a wipe with a rag as general maintenance item, and when you put them back in there should be about 5mm gap between them.

Less common reasons for the boiler to not work
- Faulty fuel solenoid valve, (You should hear a click sound about 5 - 10 seconds after you pull the trigger)
- Dirty fuel filter,

Take a look at those simple things and let me know if its any of these.

I have a Karcher HDS 750 1989 Year model

This machine just keeps going, it's had a fairly tough life but it has stood up to it all,

i hadent spent anything on it until about 6 months ago when i purchased a new fuel pump for it as the old was wasn't pushing 170PSI to the Disiel injector it had slowly droped 70psi, and it doesn't create a hotter burn in the boiler, but still very good for a 19yr old pump,

other than that thats all it's needed, it's still going strong to date
Very robust machine.

SOURCE: Karcher K2.94 Overheats

Well, there is a switch inside. It is controlled by the valve that allows the pump to go into bypass when you let go of the trigger. This switch may be worn out or the valve that controls it is sticking. It may also be that your motor is just worn out. There is a heat sensor inside the motor (you cannot get to it) that sometimes wears out and trips too easily.

SOURCE: hi,karcher hds hot pressure washer now pressure

what you need to do is, take the screw fitting which goes to the water tank off, then the one that goes from the water tank to the pump head .
then put the one that was in the first place going to the water tank on to the pump and force feed with water.
see if you can see water leaking from any where seals hose.
try running the machine to check the pressure.
if water leaking from pump head you need seals.

Power washer works perfect for 10- 15 minutes then blows fuse. Put in new fuse straight away and works fine again for another 10-15 minutes.

These machines can have issues such as you have explained if they are run off from an extension cord or if they are really far from the breaker box. They have this issue because the amount of amps that are going to the machine aren't enough for the motor to operate efficentially so the motor in turn gets hot and blows the fuse or the breaker.

Another issue could be is that the nozzle is being restricted to much and is causing the motor to work harder than what it should and is causing the machine to over heat. This in turn would cause the motor to blow a fuse or a breaker.

When i operate the switch on my karcher pressure washer the power wash does not operate.

But water comes out the end right? just under hose pressure only I bet. I have one of these units and every time I think it has gone bad I manage to find the problem. This unit not only has the switch on the front that needs to be on but it also has a safety switch on the plug where it plugs into a wall or extension cord. The last time I thought mine had gone bad it had actually blown the fuse. the unit was plugged into an outside outlet via extension cord. It just so happens that that is an GFCI outlet. I think the wife got water on the extension cord and that caused it to blow. So check:
The power switch on the front The safety switch on the cord, The outlet it is plugged into
Usually, for us, it is the button on the cord when it is plugged into an extension cord it always gets the test button bumped which shuts it down.

My karcher hds 745 has started blowing fuses. it switches on the power light comes on and it makes a buzzing noise for about five seconds and then blows the mains 13amp fuse. i have replaced it twice but...

you have an electrical short in the motor windings. you'll have to either replace the motor or buy another washer. also check to see if the motor isn't locked up with a piece of trash. to do that you'll have to dissassemble housing until you get to the motor. it should turn easily by hand. if so you have a short.

Karcher Pressure washer

Hi
don't know if this will help, but when I use mine, to start the pressure up I have to turn the nozzle to fine spray then turn it to the power spray and it works every time, shouldn't have to do this but I got it for nothing.
