Question about Canon Cameras

Canon Powershot A300 on XP

I have operating system Windows XP and my Canon powershot A300 won't install. It is not recognized in the USB port and I've downloaded drivers but and installed the program. But when I run them, it says driver update failed. When I reinstall the driver it tells me that I already installed it (duh) and it doesn't need to be installed again. So I run it and it then tells me installation was interupted and it cannot finish the installation.

Its best start again, completely remove the current drivers you have installed and do a restart.

Now shutdown the PC and plug the camera to your PCs using the USB lead and turn the camera on & set to USB mode. Start your PC and login as usual - XP should pick up your camera automatically.

If it still doesnt pick it up you might want to update XP to atleast SP2 or try another USB lead.

If this helps please vote..thankyou and good luck!

Incompatibility canon camera powershot a520 and windows7

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use Windows Photo Gallery or any other photo cataloging program.

Canon PC1045/PowerShot A300 I need an Owner's Manual and a USB cable. I need an Owner's Manual and a USB Cable.

You can download a manual and order a USB cable from the manufacturer's web site at http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=221&modelid=8775

Before you buy another USB cable, consider this: The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). There are also plenty of photo catalog software packages out there, some free, some not, that can transfer and catalog your pictures so you can quickly find pictures from Susie's birthday party, for example. Just do a google search for "photo catalog software".

I cannot retrieve pictures from my camera. When I plug it in to my USB port, my computer is not recognizing it. I have a Canon Powershot S30, my operating system is Windows XP.

Most Compact cameras come with a software disk that has the photo software pre-loaded. My experience is that once you have loaded the software and uploaded your pictures, you can then convert the file to XP, or better still, to Photoshop.

Hope this helps

Canon Powershot Importing Problems

Hi,

Depending on the operating system running in your office PC which could either be Windows XP or Vista, drivers are downloadable/available from the Canon website here.

Additionally, you can also verify if the Canon PowerShot S400 is Vista compatible. Should you still be having issues after downloading OS appropriate drivers, pls post back.

Alternately, you can remove the Canon PowerShot S400's memory card and pop it into a memory card reader with the USB plug connected to the PC's USB port. Windows will treat the memory card + reader as an external storage device and would be a matter of drag & drop. copy/paste.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
