SOURCE: How to change blade on 10" Craftsman table saw?

you need to grab the blade with something.maybe some pliers(if you are not going to refurbish blade) and loosen the nut in the center of the blade. i think it is a left hand thread(cw to loosen) because of the rotation of the blade. if the nut is on the left when looking from the front it is probably left handed. make sure it's unplugged and wear leather gloves so you don't get cut. install in reverse...

SOURCE: How do I align the saw blade with the saw table

The Blade Arbor is held to the bottom of the table with mounting screws and stop/adjusting screws. Loosen the mounting screw and adjust the stop screws to make Blade true with miter slot.

SOURCE: How do I change the blade on my Ryobi 10" table saw?

The manual is posted on line. Changing the blade does not require turning the saw over, blocks of wood or vice grips. The advice listed above is potentially damaging to your equipment.

SOURCE: My very old Craftsman 10"

Go to searspartsdirect.com and put in your model number. Look at the motor and wiring section. Look at item 16. The motor overload protector. (probably your reset button) WIth saw unplugged, unwire one sid of this switch and test with an ohm meter. You should read through the switch. If it is open then that's why the saw doesn't work. Many of this type of oveload requires quite a push to reset as you're flexing a klixon disc back to make contact. If is open and you can't reset, it's available there although a bit high priced.

How to change the blade.

UNPLUG tool, there are 2 wrenches usually on the side of table, remove the throat plate and place the spanner wrench on the flats of the spindle and the hex on the nut. WEAR gloves to help protect hands. The nut is standard threads. It also helps if you raise the blade. Let me know if you need more assistance.

Raise the blade as high as it can go and you will see nuts in the center of it, untighten them and the blade will come right off, replace and put back on the way it came off.

Briefly, unplug the saw. Raise the blade as high as it will go, the fence should have some screws or bolts on the end closest to you, loosen those, put the fence up against the blade, and retighten the screws/bolts.

Hand crank binds

The bearings may be packed with sawdust. Clean it out, look for any place where there could be movement and squirt WD40 in those areas, while cranking. This may free it up.

New Dewalt 745 saw, blade not parallel with Miter slot

Either take it back, or take it apart and make the holes bigger. For that kind of money, you should be able to adjust it dead-on. I thought I had the same problem on an old Craftsman, but I found that I just hadn't loosened things up enough. It's hard to see how much wiggle room you really have under the washers. And if there are aluminum castings involved, there can be a burr raised by the initial setting that it gets stuck on.
