When I try to download the video shot with Panasonic PV-GS39 camcorder, PC does not recognise the device.
I am using a USB cable to connect to PC. When I connect the cable, PC does recognise the DVC device and installs the driver needed but it does not connects to camcorder when using Windows movie maker.
I bought a firew- cable, but was then told on Panasonic support that this camcorder is not compatible with Vista for uploading to computer. They said to keep checking back on Panasonic website to see when it is Vista compatible.
USB is not for transferring video from this camcorder. What you need is a firewire cable to connect camcorder to your computer. If you don't have firewire port on computer, you need to get install a firewire card.

Same problem except I can download pictures from the SD card and Vista recognizes the caed as a mass storage device when teh camera is in the PC connection mode.
I have a PV-GS35, I have the firewire cable but not the Panasonic CD.
What software do I use to upload video? (I think "MotionDV" is film -
editing s/w). Where can I download this software? No CD!
