Good news!
Here's how you adjust the brightness settingon the Dell Inspiron 1525 Laptop monitor.
Hope this helps you!
CBR2009

<Fn> and up-arrow key Increases brightness on an integrated display.
<Fn> and down-arrow key Decreases brightness on the integrated display only (not on an external monitor).

PLEASE NOTE: Rebooting the computer returns the ambient light sensor to it’s prior setting
(either enabled or disabled).

Other brightness settings:
Keyboard/ Touch Pad brightness settings — Press <Fn> and the right-arrow key to toggle between the three lighting states (in the given order).
The three lighting states are:
1 full keyboard/touch pad brightness.
2 half keyboard/touch pad brightness.
3 no lighting.

That all depends on what "Screen" you have.... if it is a laptop there is usually a function key on the lower left which combines with a color coded key on your keyboard to control brightness.

If this is an LCD there is usually a menu which can be gotten to by buttons on the front where brightness can be controlled.

Finally if this is an old CRT, there are either buttons or dials (if analog) on the front to control this.

Hope this helps.

How do i dim the screen brightness on a dell inspiron 1525 laptop

Look at your keyboard some of the keys have blue symbols on them, that's the second function. At the bottom left of your keyboard next to the control key there's a button that says Fn on it hold that down and then press one of the other buttons to use the second function. The brightness control is the up and down arrows. Hold Fn and press up or down to change the brightness.
Also if your laptop is set to a lower power setting the display wont be as bright. Click on the little battery symbol at the bottom right hand corner of the screen a little menu will pop up that says select a power plan if its set to power saver your screen wont be as bright.

My dell inspiron 1525 notebook brightness is goes down,it looks very dark, whatshould i do?????

Press the Fn key and the up arrow key simultaneiously, this should increase the brightness. (down arrow key reduces the brightness)

If this does not increase or decrease the brightness, then the problem should be with the backlight or the backlight circuits. Please contact Dell for a replacement of the LCD panel (if your computer is in warranty) if not contact a local tech who can replace the LCD panel or the Backlight for your laptop

How do I adjust brightness on my Dell Latitude D6...

Look for a key labeled "Fn" (blue lettering) on the lower left side of the keyboard

Hold the "Fn" key and then use the Up/Down arrows to adjust brightness.

If that doesn't work, reboot your laptop and get into the BIOS. There is a screen for brightness. I don't recall how it is labeled, but it's one of the last pages as you cycle through the BIOS options.

MY DELL 1525 TURNS ON AND THE NORMAL BLUE SCREEN APPEARS. THEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN IT GOES BRIGHT GREEN, THEN BRIGHT YELLOW, AND STAYS BRIGHT YELLOW

Hello,
Please connect your laptop to an external monitor and see if the output is the same. If it displays fine on the monitor, then we are looking at either a screen cable problem or a screen problem. If the display is the same as on the laptop, then it is a problem with the display adapter on the mother board.

All the best.

Dell laptop screen goes blank when ac adapter plugged in

I believe I have found the problem with the 1525 that I am currently working on which has the same problem that you describe. Ultimately I think it's a problem with the inverter in the LCD. When the laptop is powered by battery the brightness is lower than full. When I plug in the power adapter the brightness goes to "full" and I hear a faint sizzle and the LCD's backlight goes off. Same as if you hold the Fn key and press the up arrow to brighten it, it will do the same thing when you reach near the full brightness. So for now I have fixed this problem by going in the Power Options and clicked on Adjust the display brightness on the left. Slide the slider to the left on the "plugged in" part and now when you plug it in it shouldn't make it go blank. I do want to note that I hear a faint buzz coming from the LCD when I plug it in. That must mean the inverter is faulty. WAY TO GO DELL!!!!!!

Noise in my screen.

Whats going on is that the lcd screen is going bad, there is a slight voltage leak from the screen and thats why the noise is being made. The only fix is to replace the screen but the good thing is that the dell lcd screens come with the inverter as well. You can always check Ebay out to find one cheap.
