Kodak v803 wont turn on

My Kodak V803 wont power up and is stuck with the lens open and extended. Whenever I try to push the on/off button the power turns on, the lcd screen turns on and the led lights on top turn on. Then everything shuts off. The battery is fully charged. I even took out the battery and turned it on using AC adapter with same results.

I had the same problem, if you try to turn the lens in as if you turning a dile, the lens will go back in manually once you have the lens completly in again, as if the camera is switched off, then turn the camera back on at the power button and the camera will operate as normal, this worked for me i hope it works for you too.

Hi!
Either the lens unit is stuck or the lens driver IC is dead. If the IC is dead, the power board has to be changed. Contact your local Kodak service center or if they ask too much, you can contact me at toms.safranovs@gmail.com
I work in a Kodak service center.

do you know how to replace the lens on a v803 EasyShare or where I can find the info. I already took off the top cover but am not sure how to get to the point to remove the lens. there are no screws on the top.

Lens is most likely been knocked out of place, that would be the reason why you have out of focus and/or blurry photos. This would also be the reason why you can't retract or extend the lens.

Gently pushing on the lens MIGHT fix the camera, but I would only try as a last resort. Sometimes all that is wrong is the gears get out of place, and by gently pressing on the lens, it snaps the gears back in line, which will bring the lens into working order again.
