Re: op. sys reload
Hi, you need to switch on the laptop and press DEL or F2 to enter the bios, once in the bios you need to change the boot device to cdrom first, usually in the advanced option, save it, make sure the Xp cd is in the drive and it will boot from the cd.

you have to use a standard windows start up disk with cd rom support like win 98 works well so the computer will recognize a older version then insert it and boot the computer with the operating system that u want to install but be advised if you have a warranty on the machine you will void the waranty i found out the hard way i had xp on my toshiba laptop and i put windows me on it couple of months later i had a cd rom issue and sent it to the manufacture and found out that the waranty was voided because i put a different operating system on the machine
Try booting using the step-by-step confirmation instead of safe mode.
Skip loading the mouse driver that is causing the error. You won't have
a mouse when you get booted up but you can use keyboard commands to
navigate everything while you try to reload drivers.
bpaul76, And, a good evening to you! First thing to do is to go into safe start up and make sure that you change drive priorities to show the cd ROM is assigned the first device to read from. All should be well, from that point on.
