Keyboard not working

If you're writing about a laptop, try an external keyboard, in a USB port. Otherwise, unless there's a switch or Fn button combination to lock the kb, you probably need to take the laptop to a service center.

If your Desktop computer's kb won't work:

- The round plug (PS/2) can't simply be plugged back in, if it comes unplugged. Usually you need to restart the machine to see the kb.

- If it's a wireless kb, you may need batteries in the kb; turn it over and look for the battery case, and for a piece of plastic sticking out of a new kb.. remove the plastic so the batteries make contact.

- Sometimes after replacing batteries, you need to press a button on the bottom side of the kb and on the USB dongle used to communicate with the kb. Press both buttons so the units will see each other.

Character keys problem

I doubt the keyboard itself is at fault. Try it on another computer and see if it does the same thing. If it works okay on the other system, then the Keyboard settings on your machine were probably changed. Go to the Control Panel and look at the Keyboard or Regional Options entry, and make sure that it is set to English. If your computer has foreign language support turned on, there may also be a control in the system tray at the lower right of the screen that has been changed from EN to some other language.

Keyboard won't work

If USB, ensure connected directly to the computer.
Re-install KB drives via the control pannel
Test your PC with another KB or KB with another PC just to make sure your KB doesn't need replacing.

Cursor not responding

try connecting an external keyboard (ps/2 module) and reboot, see if you at least can enter BIOS, to make sure the machines hardware detection is still working, then install a new copy of windows

if then u still cannot use the lappies keyboard, the internal connection
is split, you will have to take it apart, reconnect the key board.

if all this does not help, your machine may be broken...

take out the harddisk then ans see any technician u trust then.
good luck

Trust keyboard and wireless mouse

Normal 0 Assuming that you have good batteries installed, turn the Keyboard over and locate the small reset/connect button on the back of the keyboard and press it. Then try typing to see if it is working. If not try pressing the button on the receiver and then on the keyboard. Try typing, should work okay.
Hope this helps. Bud
