Question about Epson Stylus CX6000 All-In-One InkJet Printer
To correct my E-90 error I opened the lid and saw that there was a torn piece of paper under the carriage which jammed the carriage so it could not move. Two minutes later, after I moved the carriage by hand and removed the paper jam, I powered off and back on and I'm back in operation. Thanks to all before me who suggested it might be user fixable.

Found a big piece of plastic stuck in the paper inlet. Removed it (damn kids) and it worked. No new drivers or utilities required. Just find the foreign object in your printer. By reading some of the other posts, this could even be something fallen inside the interior....

OK - so I had the same problem and was ready to toss it. but instead while in the error mode, I opened the hood and released the ink jet carriage and slid it to the left. Then you can see/fell numerous mecnanism on the right interioer bottom made of plastic and that move up/down/back/forth. I fiddled with these hoping they were out of alignment or something missed a grove or didn't actuate
Sure enough, the printer reset, realigned itself and not works.

An E-90 error is a fatal error with the printer itself, the only
solution is to contact Epson if the unit is still under warranty. I understand the fix is more costly than the printer ( check this link http://www.epson.com/loyalty ).
The error seems to be reported most when a new cart is installed, you could try reseating the cart, powering down the unit for 15 min and then plugging back in and see if that will reset the printer.

I got the same error after not using my printer for a about 2 weeks, so i opened up the hood and sure enough i found a glue stick (how'd that get there?) inside of my printer all the way on the left where i could barely see it. powered it back up and i was back in service!

Hey Guys, I had the same problem and I just got it fixed in less than 3 minutes.
1.Unplug the power cord and the usb cable then carefully take take the printer and turn in upside down and shake it gently, I found in mine 2 coders a nikel and a big coat button(funny I know...)
Also inspect visually for some other things who inadvertenly got inside your printer.

Mine is doing the same thing, but I soaked some (a LOT) of ink from the reservoir and it worked again -- ONCE. Then it powered off again and won't come back on.

E-90 error is an indication of an internal problem on the printer itself. The only thing that you can check/do is to power cycle( turn it off and unplug from power supply) the printer and check for obstruction inside and press on the cartridge cover on the right hand side of the printer but do not manually move printhead to position where you can take the cartridges out it will damage the printhead. then replug and turn it back on. if you get the same error, check for date of purchase if its still within warranty call epson for replacement and a set of ink will be included with it. Hope that helps.

try to perform a cleaning cycle, if your running on windows just go to the control panel look for printers and faxes, find your printer icon then right click once left click on printing preferences, left click on the maintenance tab then click on head cleaning for about 3 to 4 times in a row. then check for a test print and see if it still persist.

Probably the waste ink tank is full.Try to do this:
First of all download http://www.mediafire.com/?hzxbdhkzxv9.Extract to your C drive. Run indoreset.bat, then follow the instructions.
After that right click AdjProg and select properties. Go to compatibility and select Windows XP.
Click OK at the bottom then right Click AdjProg and select run as administrator (if you have this
option). When working accept the agreement and go to
1. Particular adjustment mode,
2. Then waste ink pad counter,
3. Click Check
4. Tick both boxes.
5. Then initialization.
6. Then it's done.

Chances are the mechanism to recognize the ink cartridges is already damage and it may cause a lot having it replaced. I suggest to get a new printer instead specially if you have tried reseating the ink cartridges several times and won't work still.
Thanks for using Fixya
