Did you hear the BIOS beep? verifying that everything is checked out?

If you are hearing beeps but does not know what it means check out this link http://www.pchell.com/hardware/beepcodes.shtml to decode what your computer is saying.

If it is silent just the blinking lights in the power and HDD led then try swapping your video card on a working motherboard if it works then your most likely your motherboard is dead. Buy a new one.

First, make sure you have the appropriate drivers for your monitor loaded on your computer. You may have to also change your video card settings to optimize the image.

Without knowing what make and model you are referring to, it is very difficult for the volunteer Fixya experts to focus in on the problem and then assist you.

What does a video card do?

The video card sends video data to the monitor. If the monitor does not display any images then the video card could be faulty.
It could also mean the monitor is faulty.
To check whether the video card or monitor is faulty, connect another monitor to your computer, if this monitor also does not displays any image then the video card is faulty.

I just bought a new monitor and I still have double images, I tried changing cable, checked connections and updated drivers. what else cpould it be Thank you

If you replaced the monitor due to the image problem, then it is more likely that you a problem with your video card or video card drivers. I would try to reinstall the video card and see if that solves the problem.

Hp monitor

> how do I fix ?

Keep any "pranksters" away from your computer. :-)

The software for your video-card has an option to "rotate" the displayed image, either 90 or 180 or 270 degrees. Some "prankster" has set your video-card to the '180 degrees' setting. Change it back, or turn your monitor upside down. :-)

2006 XPS 400. no video image when powered on.

He may be correct as your monitor, video card both are fine then the only thing left to blame is the motherboard. Does the monitor give any indication of life when you power on the PC? If yes then the monitor may be alright. If not then it could be the monitor too. Try the monitor with a different PC. Or with your laptop if you have one. As an additional display.

Screen returned from supplier background bright pink, how do I change to white background.

To check if the video card or the Sharp LCD monitor is faulty, connect a different monitor to the computer. If this monitor displays a normal image then the video card is OK and the Sharp LCD monitor's back-light is faulty. Send it back to the supplier to have it fixed (they should not have reurned it to you in this condition).
If the other monitor also displays a bright pink background then the video card is faulty and needs to be replaced.

When screen comes out of screensaver/sleep mode,

It's a bad LCD screen or bad video card. If its a laptop, try to hook an external monitor to the video port in the back and see if it has the same problem. If it is the same problem, then you know its the video card and not the monitor screen. If you have a desktop PC that has this problem, its most likely the video card. First try removing the monitor and trying it on another computer to see if the monitor is bad. If not, then remove and replace your video card and restart. If same problem, replace video card with a new one.

Syncmaster 2232gw led blinking.

Change the screen resolution. The video card or video display may not be compatible to the supported video setting of the monitor. Try changing the video resolution to a lower setting such as 1024x768 and bit depth to 32 bit.

I have my HP Pavilion hooked up to my new Acer al2216W monitor. The image comes up on the monitor but keeps flashing on and off constantly. How do I make the screen stay on?

Video Card problem. This can be caused by your onboard video card or a separate video card installed on your AGP or PCIE slot. Either way, try changing your display settings first. Set it at a lower or higher refresh rate and lower or higher bit and resolution settings.
