Seems to be an electrical part at the bottom of the carborator having trouble keeping it started. Where can I find a diagram or parts listing in reference to carborator?

This is a 16.5 hp Craftsman. there is an electronic part attached to the bottom of the bowl with two wires. The motor keeps making the surging sound and when you engage the blade, it should stop, but it doesn't and it dies.

yes had water in it been sitting up for 2 years. I cleaned bowl and carb. solinoid i screwed very tight and does not want to unscrew, very tight...scared i am going to break it. Is there any way to clean it without unscrewing it from bowl. does not want to thread. I think that is the problem, solinoid. I hate to keep pestering you. I just got this mower to fix up.

Before you replaced parts did you do testing of the electrical circuits in question ? Replacing all those parts you could had a qualified repair shop fix it already . Sorry but if you don't know how to do the testing you shouldn't be doing anything on your vehicle . Suggest you go on youtube watch video on basic automotive electrical trouble shooting , how to use a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter , how to read a wiring diagram . Starter quit working on 1989 camaro 350 tunport put a new one on tsill wont do aneything when every thing ealse works

Grab a volt meter and check your battery out. Take a look at the condition of wiring and connections on the battery, alternator and starter. whatever the cause it seems likely the start is not the issue here, often time 'no start' conditions can be linked to a faulty charging system. There is an excellent article available regarding this topic on, http://autoabsolute.ca

Were do l buy a carborator for a 8000 xl

Your generator may use a carb used on many applications. Look closely on the shroud /cover of the engine itself for brand and model /serial number. Contact the parts dealer or even ebay for parts of that engine. Good luck

Hi!
A relay starts the compressor with a higher voltage and then quickly kicks out
It does a lot of clicking (trying to start over and over again)
If thats what is happening with yours
Its best for a tech to replace The relay but you can do it
Take your model number to your Local Appliance parts store they will have a diagram
showing you how to install the relay. Its called a hard start relay
I use part no ERP410 POWER START RELAY, CAPACITOR AND OVERLOAD all in one. (110 v)

It seems that the wiring diagram show the hot/black side going to the defrost timer AFTER the cold control/thermostat. how does the timer keep running when the cold control isn't...

If your model is the PSS26MSRSS the defrost timer is built into the motherboard and will be completely electronic. Click here for the=> Service Manual And then click here for=> GE Profile/Artica Technical Information Now it is possible that the model listed here requesting a solution may have been listed incorrectly by auto generated model numbers and not by your fault, it just happens here at times. So if this is what happened then try again to provide a different model number. Here is how GE locates their model numbers, Click Here=>

GE APPLIANCE MODEL NUMBER LOCATOR'S

Refrigerators

Freezers

  • Chest Freezer
  • Upright Freezer
  • Either way I am here to help and if your model is the model listed you most likely are having problems with either the compressor start components or the motherboard itself. If you would like me to assist you more just let me know HERE or here on Fixya. Seems lately customers are having a little trouble navigating the site due to so many new changes. Hope this helps, so let me know, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Electrical fault, starts cylce and electrics keep jumping

It appears your timer/main controller/CCU has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question
