Low gas pressur causing the unit to overwork/heat, water trap coolant service port blocked. Some machines need 1/2 liter of water pouerd into a reservoir on the rear to aid cooling the heat exchanger, if this is dry it will overheat. cheakc the filters if it has any.

Where is the drain plug on this unit goldstar 6500 airconditione

There is no drain plug,if it is not draining, then the drain holes are stopped up with trash and debris, remove the unit from the window, and take it out side, use a water hose to clean it out,and you will be fine,if this was at all helpful, please rate, thank you.

2002 Nissan Maxima SE - Air condition not blowing cold air

simply "adding a can"is a good way to end up with non-functional A/C. the typical system has high/low pressure switches that enable/disable the system. you need to be at the correct volume of refrigerant as specified on the sticker under the hood. i recommend using the proper equipment, evacuating, pulling a vacuum, and then refilling the system with the appropriate amount.

I have a Continental Portable airconditioning unit that I have to drain every couple of hours?

your problem is that u need a general cleaning ,an with out that u will still have that problem. Now if you have a little knowledge on how to open the system thats somthing u could do yourself..Once u get the system open locate the drain assembly ,make sure that pan an hose both are cleaned out an while you are there go ahead an clean the coils on the unit to prevent any head pressure an that the unit supplies air properly if you dont have any drain cleaner for your unit use ,bleach just a little cap full an pour in pan..an after you get it clean.once a year pour in drain hose ..That should take care of your problem

Goldstar Window A/C Unit Model GWHD5000

I recommend that if you have animal and you want to have the unit on all day that is fine if you have an ac unit with a thermostat and it is big enough to handle.  The unit that is in the window is ok if your home but it could cost alot if there is no thermostat because it will run and run and run.  Then if it don't cool the house enough means its not the right size.  The unit / compressor could overload and kick on and off and might not work when you get home and the house will be like a firecracker.   Best bet would be to replace it with a unit for the size needed for the apartment.  It would be effecient. if we can help further just let us know.
