:( I tried to follow your instructions. My MP3 did not come with software, it is plug and play so I can not uninstall. I tried downloading drivers but to finalize I have to plug in the player and wait for windows to recognize it. However, windows does not even acknowledge that I have plugged in the player. I am at a lose. Any other suggestions?

1) Have you tried removing the software completely

2) Shutting down

3) Reboot and reinstall Sandisk software.

4) reconnect device

You should also go to the website and check for software and driver updates.

If there is no software for this device try plugging it into a different usb port and letting the pc reenumerate it..... if it was in a usb hub, take that out of the loop.

Hope this helps.

My computer not detecting my divice

Try to plug it into a different USB port on the computer. Also, once plugged in, that is the time you should turn the mp3 player ON.

Please let me know how this goes. THank you for using FixYa.

My computer isn't detecting my Sansa mp3 player anymore.

check for up dates to the software for your mp3 and also make sure you have the right software for the make and model of the computer meaning is it a xp, vista or windows 98 .

windows xp should detect new hardware auotmatically. you could delete the software and remove the hard ware for your mp-3 player and try to reinstall it.

Its not plug and playing Sandisk 240m 1g

Hi blackmajik, I just got a Sandisk m250. Windows wouldn't recognize it either until I updated my Windows Media Player to version 11. Now XP sees it just fine and the MP3 player syncs with WMP and accepts and plays music!
