Go to this official ACER website:

Once there enter, "notebook", "aspire", and "6930". Then confirm that choice and choose the "documents" tab. There you will find a PDF User Manual, click the colored "download" icon and then choose "open". The user's manual will appear. On the top, right-hand side of the manual, type in the word "recovery" and then press enter and read all information regarding "recovery". To answer your question, it looks to me like there is a way to do it manually, but once you start reading about what's called, "eRecovery", it might not have to come to doing it manually and should be pretty simple.
Hope this helps! CBR2009
To start the recovery process:
1 Restart the system.
2 While the Acer logo is showing, press <Alt> + <F10> at the same time to
enter the recovery process.
3 Refer to the onscreen instructions to perform system recovery.
if step 2 is not working it means you need to change a BIOS system setting.
(BE CAREFULL HERE)
1. turn the computer off.
2. turn it on and keep pressing F2 (don't hold your finger in it, just press couple of times untill you get a to a blue screen)
3. using keyboard arrows navigate to main
3 Check to see if Acer disk-to-disk recovery is enabled or not.
(Make sure the D2D Recovery setting in Main is Enabled.)
4 Exit the BIOS utility and save changes. (Press F10 and then YES)The system will reboot.
First of all you did not provide the manufacturer or the model of the laptop but:
If you are absolutely sure there is no recovery disk I would
1) Reinstall the operating system
2) download all drivers for this model on another machine and then put them on a usb stick or cd and reinstall them on the laptop.
3) reinstall all apps including a good virus scan and spyware program.
Make sure you have a good backup of your data before you do this.
Hope this helps.
