Re: hose attatchment won't suck

Sounds like you have a clog, either in the hose or the inlet down by the brush roll to where the hose plugs into.

Why doesn't my dirt devil vision turbo have any suction through the hose yet there's good suction at the hose connection to the canister?

The hose is probably blocked. If possible reverse it (put the intake of the hose on the canister connection) that should suck out the obstruction. If that fails try to carefully push a broom handle into the hose, preferably from the end that connects to the canister. Put the hose back on normally and see what happens.

Why when I Pull out handle to use edging attachment, suction stops?

Make sure that the vacuum cleaner is in the fully upright position as there is a slide 'gate' thet directs suction to either the vacuum head or to the handle section depending as to which section you wish to use. In the upright position, you shoud be able to hear the vacuum at the handle where the attachments connect. If you still have vacuum at floor level, check the action of this gate. The actuating mechanism may be broken. Cheers Bob

My dyson hose sucks good but, when i put handle down, it won't **** but brush does turn

I just had the same problem....suction from wand, but no suction from soleplate, the brush bar spins. Did all the troubleshooting steps on but they didn't says need to take to repairman, being a diyer I went to search engine. I didn't find a fix, however I found one appears the vac can get stuck in floor mode or in between modes....the dial on top on dc07 ....selector of floor or carpet..try pushing it back and forth to see if that puts it in carpet mode...check for suction or try vacuuming...if that doesn't work, looking at vac from behind vac on the right hand side is the selector dial..on top of bottom portion of vac.....with vac in upright position, recline it as if about to vacuumn floor...look down at selector area should be able to see a rectangular type button exposed ..push this to reset may have to push it a few times...then try vacuumniing.....I finally had suction from soleplate!! Another tipoff to this problem is my selector dial would not stay in place would pop I to carpet by itself, but only halfway....fro a long time my vac would work but not very well...had to go over same area.4-5 times..What a workout! The first time I contacted dyson via tele the rep had me remove some stuff and I was able to look at area below selector...what I saw was two holes, one hole was only over the other hole half way...hence at that time I had only part suction since holes were not aligning properly....I read somewhere as a further tip to get suction to engage, while vac is reclined step on front edge of vac head it said you'll get more suction that way, I haven't tried that, but thought it may help someone

When I step on the head so that vaccum enguages it stops sucking. You no longer hear air being sucked through the handle as well, the head does not **** down to the floor. When you lock the handle in the...

near the bottom of the vacume where the hose bends down to the floor sweeper, check to make sure there is no blockage. this is the most common problem with vacume suction. you can use a wire coat hanger to help loosen the dirt and debris from the line and it is sometimes easier to clean properly if you remove the bottom plate ( like you would if you were changing the belt ). also while you are getting dirty and having fun, this is a good time to clean the air filter, ( tap it out good or/and use a brush or air compressor to clear and clean ).

I have no suction through the tube so unable to clean with attachments. Why?

Its plugged up. Remove hose from appliance, and see if the cleaner sucks. If so, pull hose in a straight line and push a broom handle through the hose to clear debrie. Re attatch hose and this should clear the blockage

I have no suction on the Lindhause healthcare pro Hepa

Make sure that the on switch is in the upright position. Down won't give you give you suction when vacuming.

Make sure that the hose is securly in the lower part of the vacuum.
Test the hose with your hand before you put it back to see if you're getting air sucked in through hose. If not it must be clogged up somewhere. You might contact Lindhause home base.

No suction

Are you saying that the motor runs but there is no brush rotation ?

If yes then firstly switch machine on then when you pull handle back as if to vacuum the carpet the clutch drive dial must turn to (drive, start, on,) position if it is stuck on (park, off. Stop, p,) position rotate it to drive etc as you pull handle back providing the clutch & both drive belts are ok the brush will spin.
The clutch drive dial knob is situated looking from the front of machine lower left hand side approx 50mm or 2” in diameter.

Please do this test & let me know results
Regards Chris..
