I would say purchase another tablet. It is most likely not worth repairing. I would get a Samsung A8 or a Lenovo 10 in tablet. The Amazon Fire 10 gives you good bang for the buck. In the future I would avoid RCA tablets. Their quality seems to be lacking. If you really want to get a tablet that will be good for the long term, get an Ipad. The base model is 330 and will last you for years.
To clear out items that are randomly locked up in the memory you need to do a reset. Press the RESET button at the back of the tablet; then press and hold the Power button for 4~5 seconds to turn on the unit.
