Question about Yamaha Music
I want to replace a couple of broken keys on a Yamaha PSR 6700 Portatone keyboard.I removed the screws from the cover but it does not come off. Is there something holding it on that can't be seen ? Is there and illustration I may be able to obtain showing how to remove the cover giving me access to the keys ??
Michael from Ohio
Not familiiar with the PSR 6700, HOWEVER on the Yamaha Tyros the keys stay with the baseplate part. Once the top cover is removed, there are screws holding the segments of keys. The keys on the Tyros are in segments. As I recall the black keys are in two individual sections.
There may be commonality between the synths.
The keys press on a sheet of silicon rubber domes that have conductive "pills" under them. The restoring force is actually from the dome itself. Two contacts per key! BE CAREFUL to align the silicon sheet when re-assembling.
