Dacor dishwasher door won't latch

The door won't latch, so it won't run. We looked at the rails and think they might be sticking out too far, but they won't go in any further. It only needs half an inch. It attempts, but doesn't latch. It's Thanksgiving....12 for dinner...

Good luck. Apparently it is a software problem with the dishwasher. I have a brand new Dacor dishwasher and it has the same problem. They have sent 2 service men to repair it and they were unable to do so. I am in the process of PLEADING with Dacor to take the faulty machine back. So far they are refusing. Clearly they do not stand behind their products or customers.

I had the same problem and three servicemen came out and still could not fix the problem. I pleaded with Dacor, right up to the president but not luck. They would not replace the dishwasher. DACOR DOES NOT STAND BEHIND ITS PRODUCTS. Their dishwashers are very poor quality. My retailer finally helped me and got a MIELE. This is the best dishwasher I have ever seen. Worked like a charm since day 1. You should not have a brand new $2000 Dacor dishwasher repaired. I have told everyone I know about my experience and advised to run the other way from Dacor.

Jakksmakk solution worked for me. The top latch can loosen if the door is closed too hard and has to be loosened to adjust and then retightened.

Don't know if this helps or not...might be obvious...if you open the door and look up where it latches...there is a philips screw you can loosen to adjust the latch forward or back.

Stopped in mid cycle and wont restart

Hi....I think I can help you with this. I checked a troubleshooting site for Crosley dishwashers, and there could be a couple of reasons why the cycle stopped:
1. The thermal fuse shuts off power to the dishwasher if it overheats. If the thermal fuse blows, it will prevent the dishwasher from starting. To determine if the thermal fuse is defective, use a multimeter to test the fuse for continuity. If the thermal fuse does not have continuity, replace it.
2. The door switch prevents the dishwasher from running while the door is open. If the door switch is defective, the switch will prevent the dishwasher from running even when the door is closed. To determine if the door switch is at fault, use a multimeter to test the switch for continuity. If the switch does not have continuity, replace it.
3. The door latch ensures that the dishwasher door latches shut. If the door does not latch properly, the door switch might prevent the dishwasher from running. If the door latch is broken, replace it.
You can also find more related troubleshooting here:
You'll need the model number for your particular dishwasher.
I hope this has helped you.

Power okay but won't work

My guess would be the door latch switch, if it is out of adjustment or not working the machine will think the door is open and won't run.
Some dis-assembly might be needed of the door to locate and check the switch. See this

Door won't lock

If your dishwasher door won't lock, it could be a problem with the latch adjustment or the door seal. Some latches are designed to be adjustable, and yours may be set too tightly. Look at the owner's manual for specific instructions or follow these basic steps for adjusting the latch:

1. Spray WD-40 or other lubricant onto the latch.
2. Slowly open and close the door several times, noticing whether the door hits the strike plate (the metal plate on the top of the dishwasher frame). Use a hammer to lightly tap the strike plate to move it as needed.
3. If possible, adjust the depth of your latch by unscrewing the latch assembly using a screwdriver and reseating it. Work with the adjustment until it latches correctly.
Note: If your latch is permanently fixed, have a qualified professional address the problem.

The door seal-also called a gasket-can also cause problems if you have a brand new dishwasher or door seal. The good news is that the door seal will mold to the door's shape over the first week or so. Operating your dishwasher with the highest level of heat will help this process happen more quickly. Because the material is pliable, and because heat will soften it, it will seal to the door more securely after those first few loads.

On the flip side, an old door seal can also keep your door from closing correctly. Check the seal for signs of warping or damage. If the seal needs replacing, arrange for service, or consider doing it yourself. In most models, it's a relatively easy DIY project. See Dishwasher gasket replacement for step-by-step instructions.

For more troubleshooting steps, see Dishwasher door repair. I hope this helps!

My Dacor PGR-30 oven won't heat. It stays on 135 degrees. There are no codes set.

Called Dacor with same problem. They said the high temp switch needed to be reset but wouldn't tell me how to do it.

Looked at another site and found out how. On double oven remove grill that latch sticks out of. There should be 6 screws. On left side is a switch with a red button that faces inward. Press this button until it clicks. Test oven by turning on to see if this fixes problem. It did for me.

Rescrew grill back on being careful that the latch continues to line up with the door.

I have a problem with my hotpoint fdw60 dishwasher. The door won'

I think you can fix this yourself if you can see the latch itself. There should be some screws at or near the latch that can be removed. this would allow you to physically get to the latch and check it out. It may be that the latch is broken or loose OR it may be where the latches "catches" that could be the problem also. You are probably looking at an hour's work.

Dacor mdw24s

the issue is the controller board seems not to be insulated and then the glue from the connector that holds the power to the board comes apart from the heat of the wash.  I removed the board, resoldered it (power cables are the black ones) and it seems to work.  Plus I added insurlation to the front of the door (simple .5" insulation from Lowes) and now my board works a lot better.  Thus far no more CL.

Dacor DMO24 microwave oven door stuck

What usually breaks is the door open lever.

On an over-the-range model, only the control panel needs to be removed. Please unplug the oven first.

If you or someone you know wants to look into this, we have critical safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa:

Once it is apart, you'll be able to see how the door open button would press against the door open lever, which would then lift up against the door latch heads (hook-like projections on the door) and the door should open.

Dacors are made by Sharp, and one of these service manuals below may help you.
