Navi g tells you to turn when you're right on the corner-too late

Navi g tells you to turn when you're right on the corner - far too late. It also told me to go on the motorway to my Nanna's house, and she only lives 5 miles away. Even when I got within a mile, it was telling me to turn round and go to the motorway. What's that all about?

Hi

In the actual menu of your Nuvi there are different settings for getting to your destination via either
a) fastest route
b) shortest distance

Unfortunately quite often when the Nuvi is set to fastest route it will do all it can to get you onto the motorway or a main road as this is the way the software is set up. When in fastest route mode it cannot figure out that to go on the motorway in this instance is not the most convenient route for you to take at all.

If you change to shortest distance mode (its under the navigation menu I think) you will find it will take you by the route to your Nannas you would normally expect to go.

Sometimes this function is hard to work out as to which is the appropriate setting for a particular journey - you will need to experiment a bit with it but the general rule is if it is in fastest route mode it will look for motorways and main roads and ignore the convenient little back roads that we all know in our own locality.

You may find as general rule that if you plan a journey to somewhere thats within your local area its better to select shortest distance mode.

Fastest route may work better for longer journeys.

Hope this helps. Please do rate my answer. Many Thanks.

What is an early apex?

The term early apex describes the location of both the functional apex in relation to the true apex and the act of turning for the functional apex. For example, nearly all corners in racing are late apex corners, while inexperienced drivers on a race track will typically "early apex" most corners by turning in far too early.

I can not unlock my Garmin Navi 350

Try this for hard reset .

Turn off Garmin device. Press down on bottom right corner of the touchscreen [ Don't let go ] , and then power on the GPS unit. You should be prompted whether do you really want to erase all user data, or asked if do you really want to start up in maintenance mode. Press “Yes” to reset (warning: all data will be erased and lost, so backup before proceeding) or enter maintenance mode.

PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO RATE !

My navi keeps saying poor satilite reception how do i fix

Make sure it has a good charge 1st.

hook it up to the usb cable to your computer for a few hours, then try again. take it outside in clear view of the open sky and give it up to 30 minutes to aquire the satellites.

if that fails and the battery still has a good charge in it, while still in clear view of the open sky, press and hold the lower right corner of the screen, while pressing on the lower right corner, slide the switch to the on position for a few seconds, then follow the on screen directions.
