Re: Napster Streaming Problems

Go to napsters FAQ and search "stream fix" click on the first link which is the stream fix utility. Run the program that comes up, and it refreshes the wmp stream. Then run napster again and it should be fixed.

Re: Napster Streaming Problems

I had the same problem. See the following microsoft web site for details on how to fix the problem. I had to use option 3 (delete the file); the other options didn't work for me.

Good luck,

This would indicate an issue with the streaming source. Try another streaming source and check issue. You may need certain plugins etc. to play video/audio.

Slow streaming video

Most streaming video these days is flash-based. I'll assume you have downloaded and installed the latest version of the K-Lite codec pack already. Google Chrome has a tendency to allow more than one version of flash to run at one time, which can cause all kinds of problems. Open up a new tab and type "chrome://plugins" (without the quotes, of course) and hit enter. Adobe Flash Player is usually the first item listed. Click on "+ Details" to the right of that and disable the oldest version that is running, then restart Chrome. Let me know if you're still having trouble after that.

Need to download movies and music with realplayer

The new release of RealPlayer SP (for Windows) or RealPlayer 11 (for Linux or Mac systems) provides an option to download streaming movies right from the Internet.
With the RealPlayer, an additional button is added above movies embedded in web pages that allows you to download the movie with just one click.
To have this option, follow the specific instructions during the installation of RealPlayer.
After the installation is complete, you can download movies with the Real Player.

Download and install the RealPlayer SP or 11 (see Below for download links.)
Close your Internet browser if you have it up before starting the installation process.
During the installation process, choose the option to have the "Download This Video" button added as an plug-in for your Internet browsers.
Open your Internet browser and go to the website that has the streaming movie embedded.
Click above the video player or move the mouse around the embedded video area until you see the "Download This Video" button displayed in the top right-hand corner of the video player.
Click the "Download This Video" button.
Real Player then starts to download the movie.
Depending on how long the movie is and the speed of your Internet connection, it could take a long time for the video to finish downloading.
Download Music on MySpace Using Real Player
MySpace is a popular social networking site which allows you to connect with your favorite artists and bands, upload your own music, photos and blogs, and communicate with friends.
It hosts millions of songs which you can stream anytime, anywhere, and using RealPlayer, it's easy to download them.
RealPlayer is a universal media playing program which lets you download, convert and share every major media format.
Its built-in media browser means you can surf the Web while playing video clips or listening to music, and it's the ideal tool for grabbing songs from MySpace.

Download the latest version of RealPlayer.
Open the downloaded package, follow the instructions to complete RealPlayer installation and navigate to the MySpace profile of the band or artist whose song you want to download.

Click the song you want to download in your chosen band or artist's MySpace music player to play it.
Hover the mouse cursor over the song title in the MySpace music player when the song starts playing to bring up the "Download This Clip" pop-up from the RealPlayer Downloader plug-in.
Click the "Download This Clip" pop-up and wait for the download to finish.
Open RealPlayer, click "My Library" and locate your downloaded song; it is ready to play whenever you like.

Internet streaming audio problems

At this point I would suggest doing a fresh install of the windows operational system, or if you can remember when the problem started with the last download or updates that may give a clue where to look, finally try a system restore if you can back date it far enough.

I have a Toshiba Satellite A200 24A. The videos that I run from YouTube and other such sites do not run smoothly. They are jerky/choppy. What could be the reason. Please do not tell give me complicate

Anytime your streaming videos are playing but not running smoothly, you either have a slow internet connection and aren't downloading fast enough to keep the data streaming OR you don't have enough RAM to keep up with the streaming data and everything else that's going on in the background. Check your internet connection speed first. If you have a good download speed then add RAM to your pc. (You could also try clearing cache on your browser)

Video slow

You probably need more memory.

If you place a dvd in your drive and play it does it play slow and stall? If so you need more memory. If not then the site you are streaming the video from might be slow or have heavy traffic.

Your internet service provider might have you on a slow line speed. AT&T has different line speeds for their customers. If you purchase the lowest priced package then your line speed will be very slow on downloading and streaming.

Sony VAIO vgatz750p has problems plating video. Playback is in almost slow motion and choppy

You probably need more ram memory. Also try playing a video in your dvd player. If it plays slow and choppy you definitely need more ram memory.

If you are trying to play a video from a website (streaming) then three things can affect how smooth it plays.
1) Memory - your ram memory might be low
2) The website might be experience heavy traffic from many users.
3) The Line Speed of your internet connection from your service provider might be slow. For example: AT&T sells about 3 or 4 different packages and each one increases the line speed for uploading or downloading. If you buy the low end package the line speed is very slow on uploading and downloading or streaming. It's ok for just surfing, but nothing else.

Video and audio stops and starts repeatedly, like a dvd or cd skipping. It does this for streaming and downloaded videos and music.

The streaming and download speed cannot keep up with the playing speed of the video or music so when the buffer for the incoming data is emptied, the player has to stop until more data arrives. Depending on the player, there may be a setting for the minimum of data present in the buffer before it starts again. If the player is manually paused (by clicking on its pause button), the streaming and downloading should continue until it is completely stored in local cache and after resuming play, it should be without anymore starts and stops. However, player pausing for some type of streaming stops the incoming data stream as there is no local cache so in this situation, there is no advantage to be gained by pausing the player. The incoming speed is determined by the speed of the slowest link that the data must traverse so even if the local link is extremely fast, there may be slower or more congested parts of the internet that are acting as a throttle.

My online videos skip

Try downloading the videos. Streaming videos (like youtube, metacafe, megavideos, etc. ) can be downloaded. Use Ant Video Downloader in getting the videos off your browser. A free but great tool that works with any streaming sites there is on the web. You don't need to download flv player or codecs to play the video. Ant has its own Player, so as soon as it finished downloading the vids click the Player Button to play them and it will surely not skip.
