Refrigerator (Frigidaire) model# FFHI1831QS0. Water collects on refrigerator shelves. What can be done to prevent this. Thank you.

you could have either a defrost problem or a blocked drain,up in the freezer there's an evaporator coil, this is what makes everything cold, when the machine goes into defrost there's a heater in the freezer that comes on that melts the ice off of the evap. coil and the melted water drains down a tube and goes down where the compressor is to evaporate, your drain is blocked and the water is dripping into the fridge section,i looked up your model and it shows that they already have a heater probe stuck into the drain tube but it sounds like the drain is still blocking up,the probe is rapped around the heater or near it and the other end is stuck down into the drain tube, when the heater comes on the probe heats up and it supposed to keep the drain from freezing, sometimes food can get in there and block the drain hole,so unplug the fridge or shut it down, remove all the food out of freezer,if it has an ice maker remove it and any shelves, then remove the back inside wall of the freezer, with a hair dryer melt out all the ice under the coil, then you'll see the drain hole under the coil, pour hot water into the hole,if it doesn't go down get a turkey baster or shop vac anything that can push the water down the tube, keep hitting it with the hair dryer, hot water and turkey baster until the water drains down the tube, sometimes you might have to remove the back bottom panel and find the tube,on the bottom it could be blocked with dust or other junk if it is clear it and pour more water into the drain if itt goes down you're done,i use a steamer to do this job that cuts through the ice like butter,if you remove the back wall and the coil is all iced up then you have a defrost problem, but most likely it will be a blocked drain.hope this helps you out.

Under the freezer is leeking to the first shelf of my refrigerator. why & what can I do Thanks

do you mean the freezer is on top and water is leaking down into the fridge section,if so most likely you have a blocked drain in the freezer.take everything out of the freezer but first unplug it or if you know where the timer is advance it into defrost or just unplug it,remove the inside back wall of the freezer and melt out all the ice with a hair dryer and the drain area, pour hot water into the hole and get a turkey baster or something that will blow down into the drain,i use a steemer to clear out the drain, keep pouring hot water into the hole and heat it with the hair dryer until the water drains down through the drain hole, also next time send the brand name and model number so i can help you better.hope this helps

Fridge not cooling; fridge temperature staying at 19c. power cool button not changing the temp.

On these models the technicians want to sell you circuit boards and other parts. These parts usually do not solve the problem.
First to get your fridge cold again. Remove all the drawers and shelves on bottom of fridge side and remove
rear panel to inspect coils. If coils are covered in clear ice like a solid block, then thaw/defrost this. A hair dryer helps.
Pour hot hot water into this area when finished until it runs out the drain at the back of fridge. The frozen solid drain is the problem. When finished use blocks to raise front of fridge so it leans slightly back. Supposedly this helps the drain from freezing again. The product is inherently defective and designed poorly, your problem is quite common.
We completely redesigned the drain on ours (not recommened for most people) and it works okay but I cannot wait to replace with a different brand.

Water is dripping into the bottom of my fridge. I have cleaned and vacumned the coils. How do I access the drain to see if it is frozen?

Remove the ice maker and back panel in freezer.1/4 inch nut driver to remove screws. there are 3 screws for the ice maker 2 on the back wall and 2 on the bottom panel. Use a hair dryer to melt ice block. All water will flow down into drip pan under fridge. May overflow use a turkey baster to remove water from pan. Pour hot water onto drain until the water flows freely into the pan.

There is water leaking into the freezer and freezing at the bottom. what do I need to do?

This sounds like your Defrost drain is cloged. Do not chizel the ice. use hot water or a hair dryer to remove the ice. Now your either going to be lucky or a little unlucky. look at the back bottom area of the freezer and look for a hole the size of a dime. This is the defrost drain if you see it. If you don't then you will need to pull the power plug from the machine and remove the back wall of the freezer to find the drain. Then you can defrost the ice and then pour hot water down it the defrost that ice and get the drain clear. Its not good practice to shove things down the tube to clear the drain. you could break the tube. if you half to use somthing like a zip tie that is flexable.

Once the drain is flowing water your clear and can put the back wall back together. and plug the machine back in.

Keep in mind that you will need to remove the food and have a place for it while you are working on the machine.

one more thing. try not to pour more that 2 to 3 cups of hot water down the drain. The pan may not hold much more and will spill on the floor behind the machine.

Remove the food from the freezer . Remove the rear freezer panel , inside the freezer . At the base in the rear , use a hair dryer and defrost (you'll see a drain hole possibly in the middle of the drain ) . Defrost drain hole until hot water can be poured and go thru the hole . I use a small hose to blow thru the drain hole to remove any debris which could have accumulated inside the drain line .

My freezer is still freezing but the fridge is not cold. You can hear it running but nothing. HELP!

is the fan running in the freezer? if not replace fan .if not unplug fridge,,remove all inside pannels in freezing unit,,in the bac ,in the middle, on the bottom ,there is a drain that drains into the very bottom of fridge,is it like aice bottom across the bottom of the freezer?if so,use hot water to defrost all the ice and may be a hair dryer, water will melt and **** down the drain threw the drain tube,to the bottom of fridge into a shallow pan under the fridge, that slides out(could be messey).clean all bottom of freezer out good(crumbs mostley)that stop up drain and pour water threw drain a few time to clear drain good.reasemble and ur good to if there is no ice and drain is good, you might find ice on coils, this means ur defrost timer is most likeely gone out ,just replace timer

Water draining under crisper bins & onto shelves. Try again

Your drain tube is stopped up. Take the panel off in the freezer section and chip away the ice in the pan below the coil. When you get to the drain hole pour hot water in it until it free flows. You will need a towel in the freezer to catch the excess water. Run some extra hot water through it to assure that you clean the drain out good.

Drainhole location on my Whirlpool 2004 freezer top frig?

common issue.....sounds like a drain clog in the freezer compartment above. remove the freezer rear panel and totally defrost the evaporator area, directly under the evap you see( under all taht ice) a small drain hole that has become frozen over, try defrosting with either a hair dryer( not a heat gun too much heat youl melt everything) or by pouring hot water donw the drain until you get a free flow of water down the tube. after its clear reassemble and you should be fine
