Check to make sure that the filter cover is in place. This is commonly lost or misplaced. It is a clear-blue plastic cover that lines up with the motor intake and acts as a link for the tank.
Also, check the squeegees and make sure they are not torn. If they are, they will not allow the suction to concentrate in the nozzle. Also, check the black plastic wheel assy under the machine. These are notorious for breaking at the pivot pins at the back and this will not allow the machine to sit on the floor properly and will contribute to this problem.

This problem happens a lot on this model the belt wheals get out of shape or strings get wrapped around them, Check the belt wheal by taking a knife and running it over the wheals to see if there is anything wrapped around them if so clean them off and clean any gunk that is built up in the space the brush roller fits in. Some times the strings wrapped around the roller will burn black and you cant see them that is why you need to take a knife over them to make sure there are none there and there is no gunk builds up on the belt wheal,

Are the brushes worn down too far? As they wear the springs tension gets weaker. The brushes can also get stuck inside the channel they slide in. Could also be a buildup of dust etc inside and around the internal fan or commutator, etc.
