SOURCE: Black marks on clothes

My wife complained that we were having similar problems recently. After investigation I located the remains of a pen entering the filter and removed this and did a few empty boil washes to remove any remains of ink and this worked for us. Check the filter and hose between the drum and filter.

It appears your felt drum seal adhesive has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

Oil stains on a treadmill belt. Should I replace the belt?

First, unplug the treadmill.
Take a pan of hot water with dish soap, and dampened sponge to scrub off the oil stain. The dish soap will break the oil down so it can be cleaned out instead of spread around. Wash it multiple times, wiping it dry with a clean dry cloth between each wash.
The tread will be much cleaner here, so do a larger area than the stain so it blends in.

How do I clean Mesh Merrell Jungle Mocs?

Jungle Mocs can be hand washed. I allow warm water from the faucet to run into the shoes and as it leaves through the material, I gently wipe it down with a soapy sponge. I stand them up to dry, toe up; but I check them a couple of times in the first 15 min. to drain the water that will accumulate in the heel.

Why does my washing comes out with stains on it.... they weren't there when it went into the wash...

yes sometimes ink pens can be washed when we are not aware it was in someones pocket. I use straight ammonia and a cloth to clean my washing machine drum a couple times a year because these things have happened to me before. The ammonia will cut the grime and pen stains out of the drum. Then take a squirt bottle and fill it with white vinegar and squirt all around inside the drum of the machine. Run a wash without any clothes with the hottest water to clean the drum and clear out the stains. Do this to the dryer also and clean out the filters. Take the dispensers out from the washing machine and clean those too and your cleaning is done for a while. Apparently the ink has been in the drum of your washing machine and putting the color into your clothes. You can bleach out the white clothes that turned blue. Use the stain remover for colored clothes. Hope this will help you.

HOw do i clean it?

flip down the lever to pull it all apart.

rinse out the lid, food pusher and base(that the mesh filter sits in).

scrub out the mesh filter with a dish brush or the included brush if you have it. be carefull the grater-like parts at the base are very sharp. make sure it's clean by holding it up to the light. if there are any particles left clinging to the mesh it will seriously interfere with the effectiveness of your juicing.

you can line the pulp collecting jug with a plastic bag so that you dont have to clean that out as well.

it's best to clean everything immediately. if for some reason you can't, at least rinse the plastic parts and leave the mesh basket to soak until you can get back to it.

if you have any dried food or staining on any of the parts then a soak in water with lemon juice in it (maybe the juice of 3 or 4 lemons) should help soften up particles and strip away stains.

hope this helps....

How to clean the rubber seals of a front loading washing machine

You can use wire scouring pad with a cleaning agent, but it probably will not remove all stains, you will not harm the seal doing this.
The prob is originally caused by doing too many low temp washes, you should do a 95 degree wash without clothes in, but with the powder in at least once a month, it is called a maintenance wash, and all manufactures recommend you do this on a regular basis.
If it is really bad then the only satisfactory solution is to replace the seal, and keep doing a hot wash periodically.
Please rate my solution.
Thanks.

Detergent stains on the finish of the washer and dryer

Try one or all of the cleaners listed below to remove the stain. Hope this helps you.
  • Oxygen bleach
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Acetone
  • Paint thinner
Steps to Remove the Stain:
  1. Laundry soap dyes are usually more difficult to remove than other colors.² However, oxygen bleach, such as Oxi-Clean, can sometimes clean away even the red stains. Sprinkle the powder on a damp sponge and scrub away the stain.
  2. Soak a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol and wipe away the detergent stain. If the stain is not immediately lifted, allow the alcohol to soak for several minutes.
  3. Vinegar is effective on many kinds of stains. Make a solution of one part vinegar in two parts water and sponge the vinegar onto the stain.
  4. Baking soda can be effective for removing detergents from appliance surfaces. Sprinkle baking soda on a damp sponge and clean the stain until removed.
  5. Combine equal parts of 3% hydrogen peroxide with water and sponge the stain with the solution.
  6. Soak a cloth with acetone nail polish remover and use it to wipe off the stain. If the stain does not wipe off right away, it may help to lay the cloth over the stain to soak for a few minutes.
  7. As a last resort, wipe paint thinner on the stain. Paint thinner can remove most dye stains. However, you may want to test this on a small, hidden area first to be sure the paint thinner won't damage the lacquer on the appliance or cause any other adverse effects.
  8. Once you have removed the stain, wash the area with soapy water to remove any residue from the cleaning solution.
